i have'nt seen the fight yet, but i'm glad johnson won. tarver has to be the most arrogant sob in boxing and it's good for the game such a nice bloke has won for a change. glen does'nt bad mouth anybody, does'nt say he's great when he's not, he just trains hard and always gives his best.

Well, I finaly got to see the fight. Here is my take on it.
I thought Tarver won by a point or 2, but I can't argue the decision too much....it was close. There were a couple of rounds that could have gone either way. Just depends on how you look at it. All in all an entertaining fight. Mainly due to Johnson stinking up Tarvers plan.....well done to Johnson.
Now time to give myself a pat on the back. The fight went exactly how I expected it. I predicted that Tarver would win a disputable decision and fight sloppy, in other words Johnson would not allow him to look good. In that sence, I got it right. Never in a million years would I have thought the Vegas judges would give Johnson the nod. I guess Tarver is not a likable guy. If it had been say RJJ in there in the same fight, Roy would have got the nod. Tarver reminds me of a boxing version to Eddie Haskel....never shuts up, and always wants to say "right" things, but ends up making himself look like an ass. Maybe thats why.
In closing, overall my opinion of both fighters stays the same. Tarver is good.....good only. Johnson is also good, but seems to have a better work ethic and is a bit more willing to let loose, but overall not a world-beater....just a good solid fighter.

I was goin for Glen in this fight, but I had Tarver winning by a point also. I got respect for both of these cats though. The man Glen has a full time job to support his fam and his boxing, that's something I can relate to doin. Gotta respect that. I'd hope to see a rematch. But I think that Tarver would win that as I thought he won this fight. This is only about the third fight I've seen Glen in, but it seems to me that he can only fight one way, and that's to keep coming forward. Against Antonio, I can that would probably be best to do in his case, but I really think that his trainer should put some heavy work on him in the gym to improve his footwork and body movement. Cus if coming forward is all that he can do I think Tarver's gonna hurt him in a rematch.

i'm happy johnson won, tarver slacked off at the end of the fight because he's arrogant, he thought " i'm antonio tarver, i don't need to throw punches to win " , but you can't give up any rounds when the fight is that close. johnson showed the judges he wanted it more

Maybe he thought he had it 'in the bag' or, maybe he was just dog tired?/

i think tarver thought it was "in the bag", he's been partying all year since he forced a past his prime Roy Jones to lean back. i know Roy was arrogant too, but Jones REALLY WAS THAT GOOD, he's the most naturally talented fighter i've been lucky enough to see in my lifetime. with all the years of hype over Roy Jones, it's not much of surprise to me that he started believing he was superman. i hate tarver because of his cheap win over RJJ, a prime RJJ would have destroyed tarver like he did Montell Griffin in the rematch. i could beat a has been too, and i'm a ****ty amateur, the diference bewteen me and tarver is i don't think that makes me great

Originally posted by TheGreat1yeah, but tarver was landing more clean shots, hell he even threw more. Glen was just swinging wildly. i had it 8-4 tarver. all in all though, it was a good fight.
Yes it was a good fight --- good for my wallet! Please send me 100,000 - you see, I have to buy a Red Nosed Alligator, and they are expensive here in New Orleans! But they sure fly fast!
