I said Johnson by majority decision in close fight with one judge having it a draw. I wasn't to far off, I just knew Johnson was going to win after round 7 when he was still standing after Tarver best punchs.
I called it Tarver, laid up a little of my points on him for a KO/TKO ending, so, now...
Seems to me that Antonio has this special talent for losing fights he could have won; he did that in Jones Jr. 1, and now...
Or is it that Tarver doesn't have the lungs so he needs to sit back and give some rounds away?
Or is Tarver one of those big punchers who get thoroughly unsettled/ disoriented when foes don't fall when they land haymakers?
Whatever. I had Tarver winning by 2 points too. But then...
Hey, Antonio, get some stamina and run the road more, not just your mouth!! And, while you're at it, drop in some place where they sell maturity and buy some! If your corner told you to take it easy in some rounds, maybe it's because they know you don't have what it takes to sustain the effort, which you should have. You're a pro; be one.
Credit to Johnson. He may not have the skills and talent of a great champ, like he has said, but with his heart and resolve he sure makes up, plus, he gets some of the better-skilled and talented ones look not too special; and that counts for lots! Johnson is a pro; he gives his fans their money's worth in terms of effort. Compared to what many boxers do (including stars), that's saying a mouthful.
that pennut head wasnt robbed
it was close goin to the championshoip rounds
then his ass just starts given away rounds
and taken it easy
just liek with roy
he fades in the last rounds
but to be fair
both tarver and johnson suck
good thing they gave up the titles
none deserve em
not based on this ridiculous fight
looked like they didnt even bother training for it
i thought johnson won because of his aggresiveness and ring generalship. i had it 115-113 or 7-5
yeah, but tarver was landing more clean shots, hell he even threw more. Glen was just swinging wildly. i had it 8-4 tarver. all in all though, it was a good fight.
