    Martinez has an overrated resume

Cintron has never been good, especially at 154. Cintron has been beaten before and proven to have weak mentality. Simply C level with B level power.

Paul William's again isn't all that. He is good at 147, purely because he holds a huge advantage in height. He has a good work rate too, but very flawed defensively. He already been outboxed by Quintana... but Margarito was a good win.

Pavlik, well beatig Taylor ans Miranda made him the man. Miranda has been a huge let down, he's got some power but not that good. Taylor is also a guy who lost to Froch and Abraham. Pavlik beat him but him and Taylor since have just not done so well. Pavlil got schooled by Hopkin's easily.

The last guy he fougut I have seen very little of. He did not seem impressive to me at all.

I dont mind people saying Sergio has the potential one day to be the best fighter in the world.

But when i hear he is hands down the best, i think why are people trolling?

I aint talking about anyone else. I am talking martinez, so as a martinez fan, tell me about his resume.
        Have I missed something?
He doesn't have many names on his resume and none are consistently good either. My opinion

When everyone thought williams was a world class fighter, Sergio exploited his biggest flaw.

His defense, sergio was taggin williams all through out the first fight which IMO sergio won.

We all saw how the second fight went for williams

Did u even see the cintron vs martinez fight??? Martinez should of had a 7th or 8th round KO but was robbed hard as hell..

Yeah Pavlik isn't all that but he's one big dude with great punching power but Sergio clearly beat him good. Wasn't a KO but dominated him good.

Forgot the last dudes name but Sergio full out dominated him, a fighter who is known as a great defensive fighter that is very very hard to look good against.

Sergio has a great record and is an excellent fighter, you all forget he started training late and that "some day" he will be a world class fighter is just

The dude is in his mid 30s, he's doing him now and beating good fighters in a very nice fashion. Sergio is a world class fighter to me, he is a fantasic fighter and stands out from the crowd.

agreed. martinez is a special fighter and p4p #2... but when people overrate him just so they can steal the shine from pac... that's pathetic. even martinez knows pac is #1

You know, William's was overrated himself. He had no hige wins ovwr great guys apart from Margarito. His lost to Quintana was a sign that he could be outboxed. I never did rate Williams myself. At 147 yes he is a top guy, because mosr there are averaging 5 foot 9, bit at 54 they are 5 foot 11+

Pavlik seemed ruined to me after Hopkin's and with many poblems. I wasn't sure if Martinez was good enough, but I was sure from Pavlik's recent showings, he was not the same.

I recallmtue Cintron fight and him crying indeed, but Cintron at 54 was never that good, and at 147 he was Ok. I recall Cinteon saying we are going back to 47.

Do any of these guys even fit in the HOF?

As for starting late, then we should include his lost to Marg which I didn't mention on purpose. Whether he started late or not, the resume he has is the resume he has.

If you're telling me Martinez hasn't tried to fight great competition you're ridiculous. Show me another world champ who has fought a lineup like that in their past 6 fights.

Being a contrarian and just saying "so and so wasn't that good to begin with" is a lame way to discount another fighter. All these guys were ranked in the top 10 at the time and Martinez beat them all, most in good style too.

I can't believe people sit around and think of ways to discredit one of the only champs who isn't taking easy money fights. If that's what you like to spend your time doing, I think you can find a lot better targets for you criticism (ie Pacquiao, Mayweather, the Klitchkos, etc.)

Who said anything about these guys fitting into HOF?

I always found williams overrated but at the time many felt he was one of the best fighters around, I mean they called him "the most avoided man in boxing", Martinez came out and did what he had to do.

If there's one thing I give Williams credit for, its he was known for having a pretty damn good chin and the way Sergio laid him out was brutal.

I agree pavlik was destroyed by hopkins for the most part. But I don't believe he is completely out, Martinez destroyed whatever is left of him. I wouldn't judge his last fight against Martinez win because Pavlik is coming off 1 year lay off and rehab, its just not the same.

I never felt cintron as an amazing fighter but more of a solid contender, inwhich like I said, Martinez knocked out in round 7.

To me the older martinez gets, the better he is getting.

Don't judge the records and numbers. Judge the fighter himself, he is a fantasic fighter and isn't another decent fighter.
