Anything above 140 is too much for Marquez. Also the contracts small print will read that Marquez can't come in weighing less than 145 at the official weigh in. Jk.

Marquez and mayweather, the only possible and worthwile opponents left tbh.
      And Mosley was?

        ........nuff said.
Manny Pacquiao already said that Ortiz was mega strong and he was difficult in sparring. what are you talking about?

Pacquiao was asked if he would like to tangle with Victor Ortiz, the new WBC champ.

"I don't know," he said. "He's a nice guy, also. And I like his attitude, he's humble person. I like a fighter like that."

Pacquiao was asked if he remembers the sparring session against Ortiz
, which took place when Pacquiao was preparing to challenge lightweight champion David Diaz in June 2008 in Las Vegas; Pacquiao won via 9th-round technical knockout.

"Yeah," he said, laughing slightly and raising his eyebrows as if to suggest it was a rough one
. "I was 135 fighting with David Diaz. It was good, he's strong. That's why I picked him to win the fight (against Andre Berto).
Wasn't like Manny was manhandling Ortiz. Not wanting to see Manny against a top fighter because your personal opinion is that Ortiz is not ready is an excuse. Guarantee, Ortiz fight would be better and more competitive than all of Pac's fights since JMM.

So to answer your question in a simple way: Yes, we wanted the trilogy. Just not at 145.
marquez said it repeatedly that he can beat pac at ANY WEIGHT, thats him who said it. so whats the problem?

these people who criticized arum for putting marquez as pacs next opponent are the very same people who always said that manny is ducking marquez and that marquez beat pac twice and if manny would fight jmm again, marquez would 100% beat him. now theyre complaining to arum on why picking marquez and not ortiz or bradley? and the weight limit of 145 which they are also compaining, i thought marquez said it several times that he can beat pac at ANY WEIGHT. thats marquez himself who said it. i dont see any problem concerning weight. so if you really need to criticize someone, put your blame on marquez for accepting the offer not arum or pac. we want a good fight, and only JMM can make a credible opposition to pac, though still i believe pac will obviously dominates JMM this time! but this fight is nothing but a tarnish to pac image if they would chose 145lbs, pac ain't PBF! pac could not even rehydrated to JMW even during the fight night, bec. his ideal fighting weight is at 145-146lbs! meaning, he is actually a 140 pounder that could rehydrate to 145-146 pounder on fight night, so what the heck on 140lbs with JMM??? pac should face JMM at 140lbs to give nonetheless a bit fairness of the match, though JMM is not proven effective higher than 135lbs, but Pac I believe could not make 135lbs this time either! JMM + 5 lbs and Pac - 5 lbs is the best weight for the 2 to met, and let's see who's better!

I know it's a limit. My point is that Manny will make 145 easily and have a big advantage because Marquez is going to stick to 140-142 max and still struggle at that weight.

Of course Marquez said it himself. Who else would? Marquez knows that Pacquiao won't be coming down to 135 or let alone 140. If Marquez doesn't agree to 145, then the fight isn't happening.
