People were booing Shane for punking out. Now that we have that out of the way, how does it get more comfortable than having your opponent run away from you for the majority of the fight?

Shane ran from Manny. He didn't run from Floyd. That tells me who was in the comfort zone. Manny was. Now, you can coddle Floyds balls all you want, but he was not more dominating that Manny. Seeing as how Shane stood toe to toe with him and ran from the little Asian guy, tells me that he was petrified of being hit by Manny.

At the end of the day Pac should be fighting top/elite prime fighters. Not washed up old recycled shot to pieces fighters. Which he has been doing lately. And, will continue that trend in his next fight against another old recycled fighter against JMM above 140 nonetheless. What a garbage run he has been on since the Cotto fight. Is ridiculous.

I wish he would go back to the 08-09 run he had. Because the 2010-current run is pathetic.

I don't care about the style he faces, I don't care if it's slick, come forward, counter puncher, whatever as long as they're top prime fighters.

Well i do agree with you on this note. I'd rather see Pac retire than fight JMM again as it will be a bull**** fight. We all know what will be the outcome as Marquez has no business fighting at 140 and above. We already seen it.

Come man, no need to make a thread about this, everyone already knows the score. No matter what Pacquiao does, certain segments of the population will whine and complain. But luckily, they're a miniscule minority.

Pac fights guys with different styles- pure boxer in DLH, pressure fighter in Hatton, boxer/puncher in Cotto, defensive counter-puncher in Clottey, pressure fighter in Margarito. They cry and say 'buh buh but Pacquiao only fights flat-footed come forward brawlers, when will he fight a guy workin off his back foot, a defensive-minded guy... and when will he fight an African-American?'

He takes on Shane who from the get-go came to box and fought completely defensively, didn't come forward once the whole 12 rounds, also happens to be Black. Manny wins in dominating fashion, even scoring a KD- the first against the iron-chinned Mosley in nearly a decade.... and then they complain that they want him to face only flat-footed, come forward brawlers

It's the pattern, which we will continue to see:

Back in January, when JMM, Mosley, and Berto were named as Pac's next possibles, the vast majority said he should fight Marquez and a few said Berto. He picks Shane and everyone complains he's ducking Marquez, he only fights flat-footed come forward brawlers, etc. Then after he waxes Shane and JMM looks like he's next, now it's a problem.

They ask 'buh buh but... why does Manny only take on shot fighters? When will he take on a young lion on the come up?'

Bradley looks like he's going to Top Rank and will eventually get a shot at Pac. A young, African-American, undefeated, with skill... and you know they're going to whine that he's either too small, too young, too Black, etc

for months, people accused Pac of only fighting come forward fighters. This morning, I seen a post where someone said he needs to fight someone whos going to come forward.

I'm simply putting it out there how the stance regarding Manny changes once a fight is over. Shane moved because he didn't want to get knocked out. According to a poster in this thread, Shane didn't run, "he circled and moved to the right".

For months people wanted to see Pacquaio in the ring with someone who would move. They got it Saturday night, and turned into a snoozefest with Manny chasing him all night long.

Suddenly, he needs to start picking guys who come forward? I thought this whole time thats what people didn't want to see. So I'm asking,

who do people want to see Manny in the ring with? And not that the answer really matters because when we do see him in the ring with someone, the excuses come from all angles. "Hes old", "he defends with his face", "hes shot", "he was paid not to hit back", "hes weight draining them".

The point is, no matter who he fights, theres going to be a segment of fans who will find fault with anyone Manny fights. This segment of fans screamed for months, "Mannys afraid of African American fighters". "Mannys ducking Shane".

Manny signs to fight Shane. "Mosleys old".

So they scream for him to fight Marquez. Talks of a third bout surface. "Manny just wants to fight him because hes old and hes trying to make him come up in weight", completely ignoring the fact that its Marquez who is crying about how he already beat Manny twice.

"Mannys ducking Berto". Ortiz beats the brakes off of Berto. "Berto is overrated anyway".

"Manny won't fight Bradley". Say Manny does and beats him, guess what we'll hear? "Bradley never fought anyone, Mannys just cherry picking".

Just like he apparently ducked Guzman, Campbell and a host of others,

no matter who he fights, to a segment of fans,

as far as shane eating flyds punches... its already established that floyd is not much of a power puncher at 147 his power punching days ended at 130-135.... yes manny punches harder than floyd but there is no way u can tell me shane didnt feel those punches! get real

TS Pacquiao looked so great and destructive because he has been facing these come forward fighters who are target practice (Clottey/Margs). I have no doubt Arum and co thought that was what they were getting with Mosley.. but Mosley flipped the script and made Pac look pretty average when someone isn't right out infront of him. Mosley was just so shot he couldn't pull the trigger

Marquez at any weight will be competitive

lmao, the only people stating he needs to fight even MORE flat footed come forwards fighters are his very own fans. Why? because its what Manny thrives on.

Old man Shane didn't show up to fight, doesn't matter if he is black blue are yellow. Besides that, he has NEVER been some technical, elusive, slick fighter.
