    hmm

    1) You don't get labelled "glass-jaw" for getting stopped at the end of your career.

    2) Roy did not duck anywhere near a dozen fighters, nor has he ever backed out of a fight for which he signed on the dotted line. To say these things makes you a blatant hater.

    3) Don King is the master of crookedness, and your point is? Don King is crooked not because he favors U.S. fighters, he just favors the dollar. Screw jobs were more whacky and more prevalent in Germany, and it was a direct result of NATIONALISM.

4 Roy was considered the champ at 175, and therefore, if DM really wanted the fight, he should have come to the U.S. to do it. Roy had every right to stay in the U.S. as there are plenty of neutral sites in the states, and, Roy was robbed in the olympics and was stung by that.

1..Nutcases who post here label any fighter who is KOed with a glass jaw.
2..Roy backed out of signed contracts against Sanders, Jirov, and Buster Douglas. Don't make me list a dozen great fighters that Roy somehow missed. You don't want to feel that dumb.
4..Roy never won a single lineal championship belt in his career. I don't believe in modern lineal titles, but some serious people do and keep track of such things, so Roy was never really the MAN. Moreover, with over 20 title fights, it's impossible NOT to win a lineal title, but somehow Roy managed it.

        1) Agred. So why did you say that?

        2) Incorrect. Roy never signed to fight them. It was only rumored. Additionally, there are not 12 fighters who he ducked so you simply cannot come up with that list without lying or stretching the truth.

        3) You forgot 3...learn some math.

        4) Lineal titles lost their significance a long time ago. the RING makes the man more than anything, and Roy had that as well as the people's recognition. Roy "managed" tha because DM would not come here to fight him. I'm not gonna hate on DM but anyone who says RJJ ducked DM is a compelte biased jackass.

A thread about Darius has turned into a Royfest after less than a page. I do have to say that - and I do like Roy - Roy fans calling out another fighter for poor quality opposition IS a little ironic...

Not really ironic at all, besides no one is questioning DM's comp. It almost always starts with someone questioning Roy's comp, not the other way around.

The fact that I'd have to explain that to you pretty much sums up your "position" on this for me, so there's no point in me wasting my time.

Let me just go hed' and say it for you. Roy ducked Benn, Eubank, DM, Sanders, Jirov, Lewis, Calzaghe, Hopkins, Toney, Nunn, Douglas, Trinidad, De La Hoya, Gomez, Maske, Liles...I'm sure I forgot someone.

Huh? What? What an arrogant tone you take. Are you suggesting that's what I'd say? I don't care who Roy ducked, but a lot of his comp was below-standard.

Yet I've no axe to grind with the guy - I like him a lot. It's just that if I read his fans talking about someone facing substandard competition it's a bit too much to take. Rather like a Muhammad Ali fan (who is my favourite boxer, before you start on that) slating another heavyweight for not being a KO artist.

Are RJJ fans the most unreasonable? I LOVE Roy Jones Jr., but if you had someone post a thread called "What's Roy's shoe size" you'd get twenty replies in a minute going "*** yu, hater, roy is not done."

Insane... read the ****ing post, willya?

This is the internet dude. I assumed something about your tone, and you assumed I was hacking DM. Both were wrong. And a Muhammad Ali fan can crack on someone's power all they want so long as it is the truth, as long as the don't try to say Ali's power was better.

Additionally, RJJ's career comp list is good. It's not great, but it's good and you seemed to be taking a side a lot of Brits take which is "Roy ducked every1". My bad if I misunderstood you.

You're exaggerating overboard with your perception of "paranoid" Roy fans. There are PLENTY of haters to justify my stance. Anyone who is a Roy fan has to constantly deal with haters.

Those fringe lunatic Roy fans who say "RJJ KO Ali" are very few and far between.
