Exactly, this isnt UFC where Stone Cold Bill Goldberg gets a title shot after going 1-1 in his first two fights. No boxing commission wants to sanction some freak show fight just to have the guy with 1 pro fight 6 years ago to get killed or permanently injured in the ring by a former champion. The members of the sanctioning body probably could open themselves up to be personally sued, to be banned from anything to do with boxing, and definitely just public ridicule and they dont get money from taking that kind of risk. A company like UFC can do whatever the hell they want, because its worth the risk, the nice thing about boxing commissions, is in a perfect world they would think about the fighters safety well before the money the fight would bring in.

Jeff Lacy is completely shot, but he still is a former champ with 50x the experience as Diaz and Diaz has shown nothing to make anyone believe he can compete at that level.

^the sad part is even a shot lacy is 50x more athletic than any MMA fighter. He would beat any comparable MMA fighter in any physical test.
