Cotto fought a decent version of Mosley. Mosley isn't the same fighter since then, he does everything worse, he probably better off watching Mosley vs Margarito.

What Cotto did was beat Mosley to the punch, and use his footwork and timing of the jab to achieve this.

Pacquiao will do the same thing, but Pacquiao will have to use the straight left.

Pacquiao will try and stay out of range but when in range move to the right after the straight left and fight the right hook.


That right hook counter will keep Mosley paw jab quite, Pacquiao just has to watch for that overhand right, the circling to the right should keep that at bay.

And when Mosley get desperate and throws left hooks that will be very telegraphed, just the old move of roll under and fire his own left or can catch him early with the right roll under turn him and fire back left right combo upstairs.


Cotto didn't so much as tired in the later part of the fight but he coasted he was 5 rounds up with 3 to go, so Mosley needed a KO. Cotto decided to play it safe and not to leave himself open to give Mosley his chance.

totally agree with roach,i mean i thought about how pac would prepare when this was first made,and cotto and shane both pretty good shape then,good fight,but cotto used good jab and movment,and shane couldnt deal with it,shane goes for power,then he tries on his toes and tries speed,but he is upright and easy to hit,he cant move well and deal with movment.


Pac is even better than cotto was then,shane has got a little worse,pac will use a jab nicely,will always be moving and hitting,always turning shane,fienting nicely,working the body head,head body attack and counter attack.

Shane might try do his best marquez counter punching impression and try to time pac,but pac will rush him with such pace movment speed and combinations that shane wont get much luck.

Today, 08:30 AM #205. This is how it is going to go. Either Shane by KO or Manny Pacquiao by decision. Don't think it is possible that Shane can outwork Pac for the decision. Can't really compare the fight he had with Floyd with the fight he is going to have with Pacquiao. Floyd didn't give Shane any opportunity to get off after the 2nd. Mosley just got beat up everytime he thought about letting go. I can see Pacquiao using his movement and in/out style, throwing combos to tire Mosley out and frustrate him. Not a good thing for Shane to be focusing on his power because that can be nullified quickly with speed and or defense. I would really like to see Shane pull an upset but not going to hold my breath. May be interesting because of the style match up though. Shane never had any luck against boxers and I think his record speaks for the that by the guys he lost to. Shane likes to go toe to toe. Don't see Roach letting Manny fight against Shane like that.

I been made this predicition a long time ago when the fight first got signed. But have been posting it on threads because I believe that it will go this way. Could be wrong but this is how I feel. Pacquiao is going to be on the move trying to box Mosley instead of getting caught up in a slug fest.

Cotto was back then the best welterweight in the world. In that time he would have beaten Pacquiao. But since the fight with Margarito he took to much damage. Freddie Roach is just a good matchmaker. Anyways Pacquiao is to much for Mosley I think he will seriously hurt Mosley.

And to say Cotto woulda beaten pac when he was younger is crazy. Cotto's a bum.

Pac's too good for Mosley, if mosley's water head holds up, and land one strong punch he might be able to win this....I want mosley to win, cause the odds are soo good right now.

roach should take a deep deep look at the garbage matchups he arum and pac keep giving us, ripping us off for $60 , then formulate a gameplan to finally put pac in there with somebody in their peak career and physical prime not old, or has been bums coming off ko losses or old farts,somebody that actually has more than a 1% chance of winning like pacs last 5 opponents. enough already fight someone good MANROID!!!!!!

very well said roach is a great matchmaker more than a great trainer. take away the sloppy coming- off- of- losses competetion made to order for manroid and your left with an average good prizefighter that gets hit a lot with good hanspeed.

Pac to box mosely I will belvie it when I see it. Pac fights one way and brawling is what it is. Pac does not have the ring iq to box or make adjustments on the fly. Pac using a jab I just cant picture it.
