people can say his mind wasn't in the fight due to the wraps they found before it. but i agree, ortiz has youth, skills, and power on his side. margo has a tough chin with his known pressuring, and hopes of landing a big shot (which we saw in his last he wasn't able to do). i don't see an old margs stopping someone like ortiz right now.

At 147 he would KO Margo ,,,,,, Margo is done and was not much at his peak just a big tough guy , now he is on a busted ass cant make the weight downward slide , Ortiz looks very strong and punches hard at this weight the move up done him good .

Just like the earlier poster said, Margarito is a bigger Maidana with an iron chin, Ortiz can't handle a pressure fighter in Maidana, how can he handle Tony then??!!!

I think Margaritto is all wrong for Victor. Imagine a bigger Maidana with a much much better chin. I can see Victor out boxing him for a handful of rounds but I think Margaritto will eventually get to him and force him into a war.

I would not be surprised if Ortiz hits a bit harder than Pac , and Pac demanded 8oz gloves because they wanted him to bust Margo up , if they really wanted to try and KO him 10oz would have been better because they are more concussive as a opposed to cutting you up , you dont see UFC mitts clear KO near as many fighters like see boxers gets KOed ,,,,, At 154 maybe Margo could tough it out and be just too strong , at 147 Margo is dead meat .

because margo isn't the same margo as everyone makes him out to be. fans got faith in him, and idiotic diehard manny fans hype him up to be a legit threat so manny's win looks good. after margo was destroyed by mosley, he was done. took a year off, went to a decision with a no name, became a punching bag for manny, and is taking off more time. would this fight happen right now or after cotto II? either way, margo isn't as explosive or tough as he was before. dude can still take a punch, but he isn't going to pressure ortiz like he did to cotto. ortiz might have more power and sting to his punches than cotto did, add that to margo trying to make 147, and you have ortiz going to a clear decision. i believe all this because it's just the way it stacks up imo from everything that has happened. i and everyone will know for sure how much margs still got left when he fights cotto again later this year.

Ive been telling you all along the importance of weight , you just cant see the sport clearly unless you put weight under scrutiny , it means a great deal to the outcome of a fight ,,,, your problem is you see every thing on face value one guy flogging another , you dont ask why you just auto think its because yours is better , your Margo is long gone , todays Ortiz gives him a send off at 147 ,,, that was the question , 147 , forget your Manny clauses to change things to suit the way you want it be , it is what it is .

How? Margo would smile at Ortiz after he landed his best punch and keep coming. It would be like fighting a bigger Maidana.

This is what I don't get either. This would be like Ortiz vs a Maidana that is 15lbs bigger, has a better chin and a ton more ring experience. I just don't see things going well for Ortiz and I actually see him folding as even this version of Margarito is clearly a better pressure fighter than Maidana and has heavier hands.

Also Margarito still is great at going to the body, as seen by him hurting and almost dropping Manny. Maidana is just a headhunter, so that body punching of Marg would make him even more dangerous than Marcos.
