Ortiz has 1 good win at ww and some questionable performances at jww, those are the facts, whether the fight is good or not.

Very talented fighter with the skills, who was a big up and comer until his set back. I do believe he should avenge his Maidana loss first, and he's not ready for Floyd, but he is tough for any boxer, he did beat 5 time defending champ Berto, regardless what anyone thinks of Berto that's a great win. Plus Ortiz is win/win huge payday with big ppv numbers and a Mayweather loss does not stall your career. he will still be a top contender if they fight and he subsequently loses. this match up is better than Pac - Clottey. Marg, DLH and Hatton.

Then after Floyd beat him, Brian Kenny discredited the win. The samething happened with Hatton.

Most likely he's gonna fight Ortiz, and people are already starting to discredit the fight. It's been like this since 2006. Year in and year out.
A lot of people don't remember that Brian Kenny said Floyd was going to duck Baldomir.

And Ortiz vs Floyd will be horribly boring. It will be like Baldomir vs floyd all over again.
Not as boring as Pac vs Clottey.

hattOn was longtime 140lb lineal champ, undefeated at 140. How is the ortiz fight better than the hatton fight? Because what you just said is that ortiz has more credentials at 147 than hatton at 140

when Berto dropped Ortiz in the 6th and had him hurt....EVERYONE was on their feet...EXCEPT Floyd and Fifth....Fifth turned to Floyd and said something short....BUT when Ortiz landed and dropped Berto...they stood and clapped...Floyd then began to rock that "I'm gettin paid" smile

Are you hinting that this may not be a good fight? All it takes is one big win to get you a big fight, if that fighter has a following. No difference in Manny moving up to WW and fighting Oscar. After Oscar he was in the run for big names at WW. Ortiz dominated Berto in a good fight, berto was under rated or overrated whatever you want to call it, but he was rated as one of the top WW to fight and undefeated. If Floyd takes this fight, it will be a good one for him. I hope he wins, and looks towards Martinez right after. I'm not interested in watching the May vs Pac....
