In essentially training himself for that fight, he had no game plan for Pac...he came out swinging and got beat, that's it. The jab went out the window and he just started throwing and Pac continually caught him....the weight wasn't the difference.
Yes he underestimated Pacquiao's power and his ability to take a punch.

But he did not come out swinging his main weapon for the first two rounds was the jab.

Maybe the 2 pounds might not have made a difference but I'm just curious?!?!?
A fast track to moving up... Before Shane fought Oscar at 147 he had a fight at 147 against a guy named Rivera I think. He did that to see how he felt at 147 before taking on a 147 champ. Second, the Oscar fight Manny came in at 142 so, by bringing Cotto in at 145 they knew Cotto would not be more than 12 pounds heavier than Manny on fight night. Now that he has adjusted he didn't ask Clottey, Margarito, or Mosley to come in under 147. Most people make a big deal about it because it's Pac. But after Cotto he hasn't fought below 147. Example the fight is at 147 not 145. I hope that kinds of expailn it but, at the end of the day its all guessing only Pac and his people actually know why.

Yes, you are right. I cannot deny that at all. It would have been nice if he continued. Actually looked pretty good during that stretch. But, he didn't, lol, and it ****** to watch as he slowly got beaten badly and it wasn't the weight that did it. He was simply not perpared. That's why I hope he gets another shot with Emanuel training him. I think it would be a great fight, because he will box Pac for 12 rounds not slowly fall apart. Great observation though on the first couple rounds, kudos my friend!

If Pac is truly taking in 4000 or 5000 calories a day during training camp like Ariza says, or supposedly eating 2 meals on the day of weigh-in than he is a small welter. Most fighters are cutting weight and Pac seems to be taking in calories to keep the weight.

hasn't mosley been saying all this time that he's gonna use his size and strength to beat pac?
is he just playing mind games or did his opinion change?

What you on buddy ,,,, Manny weighed more than Oscar on the night Oscar was a deadman walking that needed IV fluids after the weigh-in to try and get his body to hold fluid , they made Cotto come in at 145 because an elite F1 athlete will be hurt by training at a lower weight to make a weight he is already red lining to make , Freddie knew it would be a struggle for Cotto and also said Cotto was damaged goods and ready to take , it was a manipulated cheery picked fight .

He didnt ask Clottey to come in under 147 because he was no threat , inhouse paid to not try , it was a spar and Clottey has rode off into the sunset with his biggest pay day , just a throw away hype job was Clottey , and all to duck a PEDS test and the biggest fight in history .

Margo was indeed made to weight drain , he cannot make 147 any more after a 154 fight and long lay off , so they squeezed him down to 150 and then put him in a huge 26 ft ring in 8oz gloves for a paper 154 title , after ducking Foreman the legit 154 CH saying he was too big , WTF is that .

Why aint they squeezing Mosley on weight , *** me are you that blind , they ducked him blatantly until he was shown to be shot , they could not get away with trying to force Shane below 147 today , not after Floyd and Mora showed whats left .

Cotto must 145 because he is too big , JMM must be 147 because he is too small ...

PLASTIC MAN IS A MANIPULATING WHORE EVERY FIGHT HAS BS ALL OVER IT .

That is precisely what he is a big LW who is overachieving.
