    Berto-Zaveck in the works

Sources confirmed that discussions have been made to have IBF welterweight Jan Zaveck (31-1, 18 KOs) defend his title against former WBC weltweight champion Andre Berto (27-1, 21 KOs).

No site or exact date has been decided though July or August could be a possibility.

      I hope Zaveck isn't a bum.

He's an aggressive fighter with decent skills and a good punch. Berto will have a reach advantage.

I'm worried about the officiating, since Berto has strong HBO backing, but Zaveck won his title on the road.

He's most definitely not a bum. With fair officiating, I would pick him to beat Berto.

well you know they will lure him here if they square off. I know they were trying to secure a title shot for Malignaggi before these talks so I wonder if he can be outboxed

This time it might backfire on him.

The deck will be stacked against Zaveck, just like it was for Kotelnik when he fought Alexander. But the difference is, Zaveck can punch.
