I think it's obvious there is some money being put behind this effort. An online stream for fights that couldn't even make it to be televised, not so much.

You may be right about the "beta," crapshoot nature of it. But you're not buying it, so why do you care? IMO lets just wait until it happens to pass judgement.
I'm not guaranteeing it will suck. I'm saying watch how you spend your money. The only streaming from Top Rank we've seen sucks and is unreliable. They've emphasized this is different, but they need to be putting some beta examples up so people get the quality they are saying is better if they want more buys.

I care because I don't want boxing fans to get shafted. Internet streaming is inherently unreliable.

Fair enough. I totally disagree with the last part though. The only unreliable thing with streaming is either the source or your connection.

Look at services such as Netflix, Hulu/Hulu Plus, and Vudu. Up to 1080p streaming movies / TV shows flawlessly as long as your connection can handle it. Even streaming sites like Pandora are completely reliable. Websites such as NFL.com have done live streaming of their Sunday Night Football games just fine. If you have the money behind it, it can be done.

I have tons of issues with ESPN3.com and ESPN's net worth is larger than the GDP of Canada. Even when you get 5 bars top of the line quality (which is spotty) it's not half as good as the HD version on cable/satellite.

Stuff is getting better but, for me at least, it's not even close to TV.

Hulu. Now that would've been a great marketing tool. Definitely a great place to attract viewers.

But them advertising on Hulu is next to impossible due to their contract with CBS. CBS purposely separated themselves from Hulu.
