Ortiz is young, hungry, fast, skilled, in his prime, and on top of his game.
Cotto is none of those things.
Ortiz would be Pac's best opponent since Marquez.

No way should Margarito have been able to hit him that many times. In the fight with Manny he was trying to block punches after they had already landed. That to me says he saw the punches coming but wasn't fast enough to either roll with the punch, duck or block it. Those are not the signs of above average reflexes. Both Ortiz and Cotto lose which loses in worse fashion is the only thing up for debate IMO.

You guys crack me up, let me tell you why.....
You think that Mayweather beating Ortiz would be " the most impressive thing he's done in years "..... dude, actually taking a fight with someone like Ortiz - regardless of the result - would be the most impressive thing that Pac has done in years.
And that is a total joke.
Manny retires either.....
* when he runs out of old men and faded champions to pad his resume' with
* before a fight with someone like Ortiz becomes mandatory
* after a fight with Mayweather

Mayweather needs to stop ducking Antonio Margarito and accept to fight him.
Its been years since Margarito has been wanting to fight Mayweather Jr.

Yes Ortiz is fast, skilled and has power but he is inconsistent, gets hit just as much as Cotto, has quit just like Cotto and has not proved anything. ONE WIN DOES NOT MAKE A FIGHTER GREAT!
So, guys have won titles on their first step up to bat.
" Yes Ortiz is fast, skilled and has power but he is inconsistent "
How would you know ?
1.) his best weight is clearly 147
2.) he has only had one fight at his best weight
3.) in that fight, he was a fkn beast
4.) he knocked over the only welter who was short-listed to fight Pac
5.) he is clearly the most qualified for a Pac fight
It has been years since Cotto put together a performance like that.
