Rewatched Mayweather Jr vs Marquez fight..

And I was actually quite impressed with how many times Marquez was able to tag Floyd in ways I barely see any other fighter do. It actually frustrated Floyd a lot.

I reckon, both fighters at their best weight would have been a great boxing match - I still think Floyd would take it, but it would have been so much more exciting say at 130 or 135.

Still, the more I watch Marquez, the more I rate him as a boxer... deffo a future HOF.

Prime for prime at 130, this is a great fight, even if Mayweather probably wasn't really prime at 130. Mayweather wins anyway but it would have been a fantastic fight.

Floyd fought cautious, he may have operated well but he still fought cautious. It's because Marquez is rarely in a position where he can't punch.

Come on man, Marquez lost every round. There was nothing impressive about that performance on either side except Floyd UD'ing the guy.

I always say that JMM looked way better in that fight then people give him credit for. He just was fighting the worst matchup in boxing for him.

With that being said, you cant just take tagging for meaning that it wouldve been different at closer weights. 1st off he still didnt hit him clean that much. Were just use to never ever seeing Floyd be hit so we think a handful of punches is special.

2nd and most importatntly is that Floyd had just came off of a long retirment. I was listenting to a writer one day and he made a great point. He said that Floyd got hit clean a few times early by JMM & Mosley simply because he was off for so long that he's rusty and it takes a few rounds for him to get back right again.

If Floyd didnt have that break then JMM or Mosley probably dont even land the few shots they did. Thats exactly why Floyd needs a fight or 2 before Pac, e****ally since Pac is a Southpaw which makes it worst.

Floyd's ass might get caught early by some rusty-Southpaw **** and get knocked the **** out. Same thing with Ortiz & maybe even just as much as Pac because he, like JMM has that same lean forward style that makes the punch so quick to the target. They are like the only 2 top guys with that style

Did Marquez ever land more than 5 punches in one round?
