It's great the haters know what contract Dirrell was going to be required to fight under against Ward.....
Showtime took Ward's side for the venue when there was no reason whatsoever to do so. **** they're still doing so up until this day. So I don't doubt the rumours that he was being shafted in other ways.
Dirrell's very talented and I'm pleased to be seeing him back in the ring again.

It is true that it is bad form to mock someone's illness.
But re "Dr.Shaw High". Dirrell's camp has an easy reply.
If his injury was real and serious, and there really was a neurologist who said that, they could release his name and even a statement from him.
Then Dirrell's camp could even say, "see how bad his brain was, he couldn't even get the doc's name right."
But none of this has happned, to the best of my knowledge. So seems to be little or no cred there.Last edited by physiker; 05-02-2011, 10:31 AM.

I see absolutely nothing enticing about a Bute Dirrell showdown; in fact I see very little enticing fights involving Dirrell period, and that's taking all his di****able out-of-the-ring antics out of the equation. He's simply not got a crowd pleasing style. He actively avoids engaging his opponents (defence is one thing, what Dirrell does is another), spoils, clinches, drops to his knees, and has shown that he'll stoop to any measures when the going gets tough in order to get the win.
I don't care how much talent the guy has, I'd be quite willing to never see this guy set foot in the ring again.
i was live at the abraham/dirrell fight basically ring side (3rd row - that was where i got the pic with the great tommy hearns) and that was a SHOT he decked andre with when he was completely off guard and open. this was a punch from the hardest super middle weight puncher with about 3 feet of leverage (dirrell was down) and OPEN. Abraham did legitimately knock him down, and he was having some moments near the end of the fight, but dirrell was going to finish the fight and win a wide decision.

Maybe we should give Dirrell the benefit of the doubt on what he displayed after the punch.
But the "Dr. Shaw High" thing is a bit much. And they have had plenty of time to release the name of his neurologist and a bit of a report to back up Dirrell.
