Deontay Wilder vs Danny Sheehan

Danny Sheehan's record:
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...9418&cat=boxer
He started as a light heavyweight, his last fight before Wilder was at cruiserweight (he weighed 193 against Ran Nakash).
Not only is he MUCH smaller and not natural at heavyweight, the age 37 Sheehan had lost 15 of his previous 16 fights before facing Wilder!
Here's Wilder in with another opponent:
Even Tye Fields, despite having NO amateur experience and not starting boxing until age 25, fought better opposition than Deontay Wilder. -
That guy in the video is actually good...Danny Sheehan's record:

Tye Fields also got knocked out by a bum with 2 career fights when he was 17-0 himself.
Let's see if Wilder is facing opponents with 2 career appearances when he is 17-0.
Of course Fields rebounded with dramatic victories over the mega talented 0-9 Undra Hawkins and the even more awesome 0-2-1 Jose Flores, so I can see why you love his level of competition so much.
The real test will be if Wilder is a huge ***** like Alexander Povetkin who gets himself into world title contention and then passes on a mandatory shot to fight Taurus Sykes.
Then we will see what he is made of.Last edited by Hitman932; 05-01-2011, 10:57 PM.Comment

The new Edwin Valero, watch when he gets to over 20 wins all by ko ppl are going to start hyping him as this huge puncher without taking any consideration to his level of competition.Comment

I think people know Wilder's limitations. They are right there to see on any of the videos.
Most boxing fans see him as a solid prospect with a lot to prove and nothing more.
I don't see anyone jumping the gun to say he's great, but I don't see why people need to jump the gun to talk bad about him when he is only doing what is best for his career at the moment.Comment

I am not really talking about him so much, more just fans on here and how they watch records more than fights and will predictably call him something he is not soon enough......I might take a break from this place its making me a bit jaded.I think people know Wilder's limitations. I'm one of the biggest Deontay Wilder supporters on the 'Scene but he should be gradually stepping up the level of competition. There's plenty of stepping stone guys that can give Wilder some good experience while not posing a huge risk ( a knockout loss). Having said that, there is no excuse for Wilder to be facing a bonafide bum like this guy:
Fighting someone like this, does nothing to help in his development and is just a waste of time...Comment
