Gomez was a beast. Was watching some of his fights and man could he throw down. Funny cause he fought like a Mexican. Relentless and always wanted to brawl. His fight with Pintor was crazy, those two guys had nothing left and still went at it. Gomez was able to pull it off in the end, amazing because it was all heart. His loss to Sanchez was bad, but I give him credit even with those two huge mouses over his eyes he kept fighting. Heart of a lion. Trinidad has to be in the running for the best in PR for what he did in winning championships in different weight classes, who beat in his career and the length of his undefeated streak.
U Imagine a fight between two ATG like Gomez and Zarate, or a rematch bteween Gomez and sanchez nowadays? lol, manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather my ass......
Gomez ranked 13 ATG puncher and Zarate ranked 14 ATG puncher lol, yea that would do 3 MIL on PPV lol
Bottom line:
Gomez was the smaller guy... It took a Mexican from a higher weight class to beat my boy Gomez. Add to that, everyone who knew Gomez said he took the Sanchez fight too lightly. A rematch would have been great had Sanchez not taken the easy route and slammed into a tree. Then again, when your drunk at lunchtime... ****!
and not to be an ahole, but thats just funny in the bold....Comment

Juanma López is the best PR bóxer of all time. His only loss came at the end of a great career to current featherweight champion Orlando Salido.
Followed by Trinidad and then Gómez. Cotto is last on the list.
JUST KIDDING
I will concur with Cotto. PS Juanma dosent belong in the disscussión
I was impressed by Gomez's record, and also those KO's that everyone brought up, but I thinnk that there certaintly has to be a debate between Ortiz, Gomez and Benitez and I honestly dont know enough to put one before the other--they were all great and impressive in there own way.Comment

[QUOTE=Tomasio;10462925]Really!! lets see, Gomez fought 3 Mexican hall of Famers(Zarate, Sanchez & Pintor) & was knocked out by 1 but knocked 2 of them the *** OUT!! Zarate was undefeated 52-0-51KO's & was a World champ at the time & so was Pintor! The ONLY Mexican Benitez fought for a world title was at the time welter world champ Carlos Palomino & beat him..Tito Trinidad fought 3 Mexican's(Campas, Vargas & DeLaHoya) in world title fights & all 3 were UNDEFEATED & BEAT all 3, 2 by KO!! Wilfredo Vazquez Sr went to Mexico(D.F) to challenge then WBA 122lbs World Champ Raul"El Jibaro"Perez & Vazquez Sr KO'd Perez in 3 rounds!! Arrogant Swollen Headed Juanma Lopez has fought 4 Mexican's in world tile fights(Ponce De Leon, Figueroa, Marquez & Salido) & knocked 2 of them the *** out in 1 round & 1 of those was the world champ(Ponce de Leon) & the other Marquez quit on his stool(tipical Mexican style) & yes got pummeled by 1(Salido), but not bad, 3 out of 4..& Camacho did loose to Chavez but did beat 2 Mexicans before that for world titles, Rafael"Bazooka"Limon for the WBC featherweight title by KO in 5 & José Luis Ramirez for the lightweight title..Carlos Ortiz 1st defense of his Wolrd Title was against undefeated & highly regarded Mexican KO artist Battling Torres & Ortiz KO'd Torres in 10... & thanks to Mexican's, we got our 1st World Champion back in 1934 when Boricua Sixto Escobar came as a last minute replacement for Mexican Rodolfo"Baby"Casanova's(who was the heavy favorite) original opponent for the vacant world Batamweight title & Escobar pummeled Casanova for 8 rounds & KNOCKED HIM THE *** OUT(left him unconscious down face first!) in the 9th!!! The list could still go ON & ON & ON..See, it's NOT exactly like u say!! Both sides have had their ups & downs & it's gonna continue that way..That's what Boxing all about..[/QUOTE
That's the past hommie, what's up with your changitos now? they be owned by Mexicanos.Comment
