First off let me state I'm a Manny Pacquiao fan. Now, anyone that really believes Manny "improved" since he fought Marquez the second time is an idiot. Roach, and especially Arum have been cherry picking Mannys opposition since he got schooled by Morales. The ONLY boxer Manny has beat while he was still at the best, and the boxer he should get the biggest credit for beating, Marco Antonio Barrera.

Let's keep it real and recognize it's Arum who helps pick Manny's opponents and not Roach.

Roach never wanted to fight Margarito and actually preferred Marquez. Roach was also campaigning for a Valero showdown but again Arum put him in his place by telling the media that Roach has no say in who Manny fights and his job is being a trainer....nothing more.

If you disagree, then please tell me which fighter that Manny has fought, that was picked by Roach.

With that said, Cotto was chosen over Shane for the following reasons:

1. He beat Shane
2. He was a bigger draw (the third biggest draw in the sport behind Manny and Floyd)
3. He was about to jump ship to GBP unless he got a fight with Manny.
4. He was a Top Rank fighter, meaning Arum kept all the money in house.
5. If Manny fought Shane instead, Arum would not only split the profit with GBP, but also there is a clause in Manny's contract that if GBP does an event involving him, they get an additional percentage for the cut the promoters split.


So it made perfect sense, and was advantageous to Arum to make Pacquiao vs Cotto. I mean I challenge you to bring up a reason as to why it made more sense to face Shane instead of Miguel, especially when Miguel beat Shane when they fought.

Also if Pacquiao would have fought Shane instead, I guarantee you would be the first one claiming he ducked Cotto by facing the loser instead of the winner of that bout.

I understand all of that and financially and business wise it made sense for Manny Pacquiao to fight Miguel Cotto but eventhough Cotto beat Shane when he was undefeated and at 147. Doesn't mean Cotto was the better fight legacy wise. Shane was the #1 in the division. If Pac fought and beat Shane then it would have looked way better for him legacy wise then fighting him after Floyd and Mora. Manny is supposed to be the P4P best fighter in the sport but he is not fighting guys to solidify that claim. He says he doesn't need Floyd to enhance his legacy but the other day he says "I want to outdo Floyd"? Come on fam. It is written in black and white.

Name me one time in any of my posts that I didn't give a fighter his props for winning? I picked against Manny and still gave him his props after he won. Name me one time any Pac fan has done that. Not all do but most don't give props but rather make excuses. I don't make excuses because they are no uses for them.

It is a joke that the catch-weight king will not consider anything less than 147lbs to fight the 38yo midget Marquez. The fact that a Marquez/Pacquiao matchup would be held at a higher weight than when Manny won his welterweight title..... is absurd.

The only welter that Manny has EVER fought at 147 is Josh Clottey.

The manipulating of advantages by Pacquiao is now so obvious it is impossible to ignore, even *******s must be starting to cringe.

bro, marquez is the same fighter now as he was back then...whereas the pac of the past is no where near the pac of now...so to say marquez will always give pac problems is in accurate. pac today is a beast that fights in control, that has movements, that has better combos from different angles, using jabs more often...this pac now is a beast...the pac back then was more of a brawler, that only had a left and hardly a jab

this pac is different, u cant say that same about marquez...marquez of the past is still marquez of the present...marquez bring nothing different...just his age ;o)

That is your opinion but the only difference about Manny is that he uses his right hand now. Marquez in his last fight looked very good. Sorry bro but Marquez has been fighting against the top guys in his division and winning by KO mostly. Marquez is still a solid fighter. Just because he didn't look good against Floyd doesn't mean he is still not good. Name me how many fighters have looked good against Floyd? Pac has been much faster and fresher than his opponents since JMM. Can't really say that JMM is not on Pac's level until they are in the ring. Marquez is more live of an opponent than Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey and Margarito. Dude gets knocked down, gets up and wins. Never will sleep on a fighter with this heart.

I'm not going to make any excuses because Marquez is asking for it. Answer me this. How many excuses have Pac fans used in regards to the guys Floyd Mayweather Jr and Sergio Martinez fought? Or any other boxer/fighter for that matter who name is not Manny Pacquiao.
