the simple fact that margarito had plaster of paris on the confiscated wraps for the mosley fights, TAINTS ALL PREVIOUS FIGHTS, being found guilty of the substance found in the gloves means margarito has to prove otherwise about his previous bouts that he didn't cheat, because getting caught at one point in his career put the rest of his career in jeopardy.... most certainly in question.

margarito tainted his whole career with this and it will always be the question mark and the asterisk by his name, because he was found with a illegal hardening agent in his handwraps, that is fact that can't be denied, the only thing in question is how long has he been doing this????? i'm willing to bet at least for 5 or 6 fights in his career.......... at least.

Well for starters ts,the word is it hardens as the fight goes on.As sweat hits them,they start to harden.Plaster of paris.But also,Cotto was undefeated & they were going into that fight fairly even.Margarito was heavily favored to smack up on Mosley.I don't see why he'd only use it for Mosley,whom the boxing world thought that he would destroy,but not on an elite undefeated fighter fighting him on even terms.

Cotto was the biggest fight of his career, Shane was a big underdog against Margarito. Why would he try to use illegal wraps for a guy he is expected to beat and very possibly knockout AFTER he just won the biggest fight of his life and became the top guy in the welterweight division?

You overrate Cotto. Cotto was a B class fighter, who almost got KTFO by a bum Ricardo Torres, who was a small 147. He wasn't that much of a challenge for Margarito compared to Paul Williams or Santos
