Money is what makes, and breaks fights.

So what do you think then?

Some of the pampered HBO house fighters like Andre Berto get paid too much.

But most boxers don't get paid enough, not even enough to make a living from it. Boxing is the most poorly managed and marketed sport.

The big time boxers do, but i'm not hating. I hope they continue to make good money, but at the same time giving the fans big fights.

Without a doubt the top tier fighters make way too much. Had Boxing been smart they would of adjusted with the times and brought the pay scale wayyyyyyy down. Get rid of PPVs, pay fighters less so the major networks can afford the fights and build fighters career. The way it's going, boxing will have nothing left because the exposure is gone.

The way I see it boxing will go through a huge change in the next decade with their pay scale. The demand won't be there so the pay will be less and fighting will go back to its roots. As boxing dollars go down you will see better fights and good fighters fighting much more often. This will once again spark interest in the sport but it's something that the sport should of done ages ago because it's not a given that the public will accept boxing again. Boxing figure heads are ******.

The one major problem I see is boxing is more of a crapshoot and stars are going to be hard to build once they go back to the old format. The sport will have to reinvent itself and market it like MMA does. No longer does the great athlete go into boxing and that's why you see fighters lose left and right. Boxing has to get the fans out of the mindset that one loss means you are nothing. It's going to be a very uphill battle.

In MMA the fighters get paid hardly anything comapred to top boxers, but we do have a lot of small time fighters too who have to hold real jobs.

If there was a system where a '0' wasn't as important such as MMA, and the name or the fighter is what sells, then that would be great.

We really do need a boxing league.

HBO does their business the wrong way, they pick a horse and run with it, even if it just might suck.

I love Shobox, cause there are no pampared and protected fighters there, everyone earns their buzz on Showtime...then they move to HBO for the big money.

Yeah I am talking the big fighters here. IMO only 20-30 or so, at a guess make near 1 mil or over a fight.
