Why does Manny/Roach allow training and sparring scenes? Advantage or Disadvantage?

Cause everyone knows how HAtton fights.. Hatton is not all of a sudden turn into the best defensive fighter in the world because he heard Roach's comment. It's quite obvious.

well if he saw that video wouldnt you try to protect your left side more or take the information with a grain of salt? If i was Hatton, I would've practice how to dodge, slip, or counter that right hook.

U can barely see anything from the small 30 seconds videos they release.. I want to see the Show time porter sparring with manny vids howcome they don't show those? Exactly.

i doubt they would reveal anything that they believed would put them at a disadvantage. we don't see 99% of the sessions/rounds. only way i could see it being a disadvantage is if somehow the other guy thought he was stronger or faster then what he saw in the vids, and rid some of the fear, or gave him more confidence in himself. lol but then again, perhaps it would play into their hands after all because they WANT you to think that . . .

Some pacquiao fans worry about everything, I remember in the Margarito fight some even went to ESNEWS and were attacking Elie Sechkback and where calling him a traitor and even were blamming him if pac lost.

Pacquiao's sparring doesnt gain much advantage. He pretty much fights one way. Here it is and can you stop it? Its not like he has some secret weapon.

Sure they can be telling the truth, but the main reason might be to get Mosley to over think his own game plan and Pacquiao's. Mind games are hit or miss, but every little bit helps. Just to get your opponent distracted for a second about what you're going to do in the ring is sometimes all it takes.

I was thinking the same thing, but most of the information that they said were right on the money. Who knows maybe they are just revealing information that pro trainers already know.

going to the body could make it an easier night. Mosley will carry that power into the late rounds if he lasts. Then Pacquiao's in trouble. Good body shots early and Pac should cruise

I bet you havent watched the fight camp episode that was on today. Forget the sparring session and focus more on the several game plans they revealed.

Well if anything I think Manny needs to work on the body more than he does.
In the Margarito fight he should of stuck to the body and the fight would have been stopped had he kept going downstairs.

Body shots are very underrated.

True. I remember a huge left to the body of Margs in the 4th and he almost went down. A few seconds later, Manny hit him again to the body and Marg almost went down. The problem was that Manny kept on headhunting after rather than destroying the body.

nice to know... I just don't understand why they show so much for everyone to see. Honestly, I would not give out any training sessions beside jump roping and hitting the bags.

why do you think they mentioned a small piece of their game plans? I believe they are giving out valuable information and i'm sure other trainers/boxers would not allow that.

When it comes to boxing, it's all about the lil details that make a huge difference.

Remember what Roach has said time and time again, he doesn't look for mistakes, he looks for bad habits. Well, in the case of Hatton.... Ricky had a habit of ****ing and looping his left hook. Telegraphing that left hook is something Ricky has done all his life. He wasn't about to change something he has been doing since he was a kid in as span of a week.

And if you notice, Roach doesn't reveal these lil tidbit of info until, usually the week before the big fight. By then, it's too lil, too late for the other side to really make any corrections in something their fighter has been doin' for years.

Now, having said all that, there's always a chance that all these revelations by Roach can backfire as well. Nothing is 100% fail proof.
