Is that the Julie Harris character? Been a while since I saw this.

    And what are your faves?

Your Floyd pick appears to be a 22-minute thing for Floyd lovers I guess. Not everyone is.

Rocky is a nice feel good movie. But it is a fantasy film, and my top two are dramas based on real people. And my #3 was a great documentary on Emile Griffith.

Skip your judgementalism. Try just posting your opinion without denigrating others who don't share yours.
A film doesnt win an Academy award for best picture of the year for being simply a "nice feel good movie".

And everyone knows Soul Of A Champion is the most well put together boxing documentary out there. Don't get mad at me because you're out of the loop.

It's a good watch for boxing fans, especially for fans of Mayweather Jr.

The threadstarter is simply hugging balls by suggesting it belongs in the Top 3 Boxing Movies ever made, though.

It doesn't even belong in the Top 30 Boxing Profiles/Documentaries ever made.

        Trust me on this.

It doesn't lose anybody any credibility if they don't have a single Rocky movie in their Top 3 boxing movies of All-Time. Academy awards, ultimately, don't speak to a movie's quality as there have been many unworthy movies that won an Academy award.

I wouldn't knock anybody for having the original Rocky in their 3, as it is worthy for the beautifully executed romance element, but I also wouldn't knock anybody if they had 3 other movies above it.
Hurricane over Rocky? Really? Hurricane over the timeless and Academy award winning classic Rocky?

I'm as big of a Denzel fan as anyone but c'mon son.

The ones out of the loop are you and Floyd. I see little to admire there lately as a human being or boxer (Pedscam inventor). So like I said post your answer without denigrating others who don't share your opinion.

This thread was merely about listing movie faves, not about boxers whole stories per se, but your insults have morphed it.

Let's get back to topic without insulting anyone's opinions.

Thank you. Appreciate the heads up.

But I was the threadstarter, that 22-min thing was posted by the threadhijacker. Lots of good choices here, but that's one I probably won't be watching.

Who says this apart from you?

Give me one example. Just one. The Griffith film the TS mentions is just one example of a boxing docu that craps all over Soul Of A Champion (although I think movies and docus should occupy seperate lists).

And there are tons of crappy movies that win Academy awards. Although, I would agree that Rocky is more than just a "nice feel good movie"...and I'm not predisposed to praise the Rocky franchise or anything Stallone does in general.

I also strongly disagree with physiker's implied suggestion that boxing movies have more worth if they're based on 'real events'.

Too late, you've already opened the flood gates by questioning Floyd's integrity as a human being. That's a far bigger insult than anything i'v posted in this thread.

However i'll be willing to look past that and leave your thread in peace if you watch the highly inspirational "Floyd Mayweather: Soul Of A Champion". Something tells me after you're finished watching you'll come back to this thread and revise your list.
