From the way Dan Rafael described the situation, I can kind of sympathise with Bradley.

I blame HBO for bad business practice.

i dont mind asking for more or using this as a negotiating ploy, but bottom line, he needs this fight to make the big money. so he's going to fight a lesser fighter for 1.3 Mil and then what?

He'll keep getting 1.3 mil OR LESS because his rep will take a huge hit.

it's not a fight he should pass up by any means.

i know he aint ducking khan but 1.3 mil is nothing to sneeze at for a fight. he needs to put one of those loser clauses that pwilly, devon, and dizzy had in their contracts if he can

Would Khan get a pass to fight Ricky Hatton instead of Timothy Bradley?

It would be worth a lot more money.

Bradley fighting a lesser opponent is to get rid of Shaw and sign with a major promotion company..I agree to an extent this fight needs to happen now,but I can see where Bradley is coming from wanting to get paid as well..He made that same money with Devon why should he take the same money to fight Khan when its a much bigger fight??

Khan couldn't have fought Bradley on that date. HBO have had the July 23rd date earmarked forever. It was never going to take place before that.

Khan vs McCloskey was a stay busy fight. It has no relevance to Bradley seemingly side stepping Khan to fight a lesser fighter.

Why didn't Bradley fight Alexander instead of Abregu?

This makes no sense. Khan-McCloskey has nothing to do with this fight. Like I said in my last post, HBO had a date set for Khan-Bradley, they didn't want it earlier. Khan didn't get a pass to fight anyone, because he didn't need a pass. It was a stay busy fight for Bradley and that's how it should be seen not as how your trying to portray it.

No offense Romey, but this poll might as well have been a popularity poll. People clearly voting for their favorite fighter over the real purpose of the poll.

If we really lay it out there, if you put the "greed" factor out there as "Who is greedier, Khan or Bradley" then IMO the scale goes clear over to Khans side. I get tired of hearing people act like popularity = being the best, and therefore they deserve the majority of the money. Who is to say that Bradley should bow down to Khans money proposal just because he has more fans in the U.K. and has a higher guaranteed purse then him? If Khans promotional company wants to pay him a guaranteed million plus per fight to fight "whoever" then that's their business. But if they expect that BECAUSE of that Khan should ALWAYS have the bigger purse then that's when I have a problem with it. Just because a fighter would "make more money then they've made in any previous fight" fighting Khan, doesn't mean they have the right to set the standard of what that fighter SHOULD make. It's irritating and Team Khan will continue to struggle for worthy opponents who are willing to fight for what Team Khan deams them worthy of. [The 2 negotiations with JMM were a complete joke BTW]. The ONLY reason the Maidana fight even happened was because A) Maidana was the mandatory challenger and B) Team Khan could not force the "he doesn't want to fight because he priced himself out" (which they WERE trying to say) because it was FORCED to go to a purse bid in which Maidana ended up earning more then what Khans team wanted to pay him. Team Khan did NOT have a choice in the matter, period.

The fact of the matter is that Bradley is rated #1 and Khan is essentially the challenger. Since when should #2 make more money then #1? IF Khan beats Bradley for the #1 spot then yea, he will have EARNED the right to claim more pay. I think the pay grade needs to go back to ratings rather then who has more fans. Again, popularity - BY ABSOLUTELY NO MEANS- should equal more pay then the #1 champion. To be honest the greed in this sport is incredibly outrageous and is making a mockery of what the sport is supposed to be about - which is the best fighting the best. And I find it appalling what Shaw does to his fighters when they are considering jumping ship (and there have been a lot of them). You always see him all up in the ring after his fighters win/lose, with his arm all around them looking like he's gonna cry for them... but as soon as they don't let him lead them around by the nose ring then he's selling them out to the public WHILE THEIR STILL UNDER CONTRACT and blackmailing them by misinforming the public (essentially trying to sell out his own fighter), sitting them on the shelf or giving them ****ty fights. It's gotten so out of control, from the promoters to the fighters who think they are worth more than they are - it's no wonder that the sport is having a problem bringing in more casual fans or keeping the interest of the current ones.

To be honest, the only time I REALLY give a **** what a man makes for fighting is when it is preventing or holding up must see fights that should have no real problems being made. JUST MAKE THE FIGHTS ALREADY!!!!
