and please..the better fighter doesnt mean *****..its all about resume..lots of better fighters out there didnt make the hall of fame. or even dominate boxing..its all about winning the fight not the skills..

I don't understand people saying it's not close. If JMM would have been given the wins vs Pac it might not be close, but otherwise it is..

Also someone said JMM has way more left then Cotto.. How so? Cotto looks just fine now with Steward training him.. JMM has went life and death with guys not that great lately., and got shutout by Mayweather.

It is not only the resume is also how they peformed in their fights. Marquez has been more consistant in his peformances but it still close.

it's close. but imo cotto's win over mosley tops any of jmm's.

I think it's Marquez, quite clearly.

Cotto has better wins but worse losses. Marquez has the better accomplishments. And of course, will forever be linked to "maybe" beating the best fighter of his generation (and several prior and several after, surely) twice.

Marquez wins big, but I can see how you initially ask.

Remember more importantly than who is when. So please explain how's that a better win? Because, you seen more of Judah on TV than Diaz and Katsidis? Is that why?

And, Judah only has one good win at WW as well. He's not one of the best WWs of the last decade.
Juan Diaz lost to Campbell then beat Katsidis lost to Marquez. He lost twice to Paulie and got beat again by Marquez. Losing to Mayweather is better than losing to Campbell

This counts for alot, but can you hang the entire argument on 1 win?

Also I think that a very good argument can be made that JMM's win over MAB was as good as Cotto's Mosely win and maybe better.

After that, JMM's resume gets a fair bit deeper than Cotto's, imo.

Also, JMM was never beaten as badly as Cotto was twice.

                      JMM's resume > Cotto's, imo.

These are my 2 favorite active boxers, btw.
