That fight could be a cracker, no problem at all with that matchup.

there's no debate about hopkins fighting pascal in canada for the dough.

hence no past fight with dawson, who would bring no dough

I would love it if Glen won the super 6. he's the only likable guy in the tourney, but he always gets robbed.

Maybe part of the problem for that fight is the BHop was coming off the horror of the Jones fight where both of them looked far gone.

So little interest before Pascal in BHop. Now he can fight anywhere again!

well golden boy won the purse bid/promotional rights to the fight, so if I'm not mistaken they could have done it in the states. Problem is if they had it here they'd probably sell 5,000 tickets max, in canada easy 20,000 tickets will be sold. so hopkins goes where the money is.

Well I don't blame him for not wanting to go to Europe for the home cooking there. He already got some of that in Canada.

Maybe Pascal and Co only gave Hopkins the fight if it were held in Montreal?

I was saying he cares about both legacy & money but money is probably first. I mean why else is he fighting Pascal in Canada? They could have done it in the states. He wants more money. He's always been very money motivated.

If there is someone at cruiserweight who can bring in a lot of cash no doubt he'd do it. I just don't think there is anyone there unless he's willing to fight in europe or somewhere which I doubt he'd want to go that far.

maybe if he was offered a large amount of money. But I don't know anyone at cruiserweight who could really do that for bhop.

If he beats Pascal I think he has more options at LHW or Bute.

that's the only reason I don't think this fight will happen. Hopkins has always gave Johnson his respect, and so does Johnson towards hopkins, but in hopkins eyes what does he gain out of it? It wouldn't be a big money fight and it wouldn't be something that would really enhance his legacy or it wouldn't be a historical victory (unless Johnson was champion). Those are the only motivations for hopkins right now. Money & legacy (and probably in that order).
My "easy pickens" clearly was written as the easiest pickens at cruiserweight.--not in general.

And I stand by that, and we shall see.
