Hopkins will take the easiest pickens at cruiser if that's where he chooses to go.

hopkins is only after big money fights and legacy fights. He's not going after "easy pickens".

that's the only reason I don't think this fight will happen. Hopkins has always gave Johnson his respect, and so does Johnson towards hopkins, but in hopkins eyes what does he gain out of it? It wouldn't be a big money fight and it wouldn't be something that would really enhance his legacy or it wouldn't be a historical victory (unless Johnson was champion). Those are the only motivations for hopkins right now. Money & legacy (and probably in that order).

I'm all about this fight. Hopefully it gets made even if one or both guys lose their next fight.

I'm with you there.
But it's all about $, and much more likely to happen if they both win. Still think Hopkins may not want it for several reasons.

One is that with few fights left in him, he might only want to risk losing in trying for another higher weight, like cruiser.

If Johnson has enough left to take Froch, I think he would take Hopkins too.

Depends how much shi* ref will allow Hopkins to get away with though.

Hopefully it happens.. i am kinda shocked that Pascal is still favourite for the rematch because Hopkins should have won the first and without the KD's would have won very wide

It also doesn't mean he is avoiding Dawson, or a guy who he already beat.
