He's got a big mouth though, step up. He made us wait for the Jennings fight then put on a very unimpressive performance, who was the last bum he fought? Forgot his name, now Ndou. Either step up or shut the hell up, that's how I feel about him honestly. Again, I still doubt he tried, I mean actually tried to get a better name than Ndou. Tons of guys out there better than Ndou.

Your acting like this is going to be Kel's only top fight ever, this is clearly a stepping stone against a known boxer..nothing wrong with that. He will no doubt fight again by the end of the year against one of "the tons of better welterweights".He's got a big mouth though, step up. Wow did you even read my post? Its easy saying "just step up". Against who? What big name fighters are willing to fight Brook? He's got a big mouth though, step up. What a pile of horse****. Lovemore? Freaking Lovemore? This is suppossed to be his break out fight? He can't keep mentioning Ortiz, Khan, and Pac if he doesn't prove himself against tough opponents. Until he does, he needs to keep his mouth shut.
The guy is 25 and he hasn't done jack. I don't think he is going to make it big, he has wasted too much time. These are the exactly the type of fighters that make the sport BORING!Comment

He could fight Mike Jones, Frankie Gavin, or enter the competition to get a belt. Fight your way to becoming a mandatory.
If that doesn't work fight someone at 154, that is what any fighter with guts would do. I guarantee he could find tons of tough opposition at 154, if not at 147. I bet Paul Williams would take it at 154, or a ton of other fighters. When Ortiz couldn't get a fight at 140 anymore, what did he do?
If he had tried to make a name earlier than the age of 25 maybe he wouldn't be having these problems. His problems are of his own making, now he has to get a tough fight or become a footnote in history.Last edited by SpitBalla; 04-27-2011, 11:16 AM.Comment

A couple of things:
1. Brook did try to fight Mike Jones. The fight was discussed between Warren and Arum before Jones-Karass I, and the plan was to have them fight after that. But then it seemed to a lot of people that Karass was robbed and so Arum set up a rematch. By the time that was over and done with, Brook and Warren had fallen out, leading to their split.
2. I don't think this is a terrible fight. It's not going to do much for his reputation, but for a couple of years now I have been saying that I'd like to see Brook in with someone who is almost guaranteed to last 12 rounds because Brook has never been the full distance before and it's important to test your stamina against someone who isn't a world-class fighter. So to me it could be a good fight for his development.
Brook needs to stay active though and in order to get a big fight he's going to have to do what Pirog did: take the short end of the money and fight away from home against someone expected to beat him. He's not a big enough name to be able to get any of the champions (whether they be big names like Pac/Ortiz or lesser-known guys like Zaveck or Senchenko) to come to him, so he'll have to go to them.
If he fights someone worthwhile after N'Dou then I don't think it'll be too bad. But his career is stagnating already and so he better step it up soon.
I'd like to see him fight Aydin in America. Neither are big draws there, but if you have it as the main support to a HBO/Showtime fight then it'll give good exposure, an entertaining fight (I think Aydin-Brook would be exciting because of their styles) plus a win would mean he gets a high/mandatory WBC rating, which is good for his career because Ortiz is someone he might be able to beat, but Pacquiao will never fight him, and would beat him if he did. Aydin has fought in the US before so might take the fight.
Holt, Malignaggi, Quintana, Yorgey, Karass, Alfonso Gomez...none of these guys are career-changing wins if you can beat them, but they're solid enough and would be the sort of opposition that Brook should be looking to face while working his way towards a title shot and great exposure.Last edited by Clegg; 04-27-2011, 12:19 PM.Comment
