Mares didn't let him fight like he wanted to, he pressured Vic while throwing a high volume of punches mixing it up head and body. Plus in the Mares fight Vic didn't get away with sticking his arm out.

I disagree 100%. All of the chatter from the darchinyan camp before and after this fight say otherwise. So does much of what I read prior to the fight and what I say. Vic's gameppan was to box and pick his shots from the opening bell, and he didn't adjust because he thought it was working.

It was actually. He was not overwhelmed by mares. It was a close fight.

at no point did I or have I ever said mares was scared. I posted the article where mares feels that agbeko earned his right to the fight and that's the fight he wants. On top of that, I posted it saying mares was standup for feeling that way and sticking to his guns.

We enter this tournament and everyone in it knew it was a single elimination. there is still unfinished buisness with Agbeko. No one is saying will never fight Vic again. Just not now. Abner wants to win a world title and will see what happens with Agbeko.

Mares won a close but clear decision.
