I don't think it's bad that Ramos is getting a date on HBO if they don't pay him that much. He is clearly worthy of a title shot. Nothing like trying to establish some young talent.

I think it's debatable that he has done enough to warrant an HBO slot considering guys like Vazquez and Rigondeaux have yet to make their HBO debut and both are champs.

Wasn't really my debate before, but the beef with Arum is not that he is matching his fighters with bums, but he's not putting them in the best fights possible. Look at Lopez against Salido. Everyone was saying they should match him with Gamboa already and Arum killed that super fight.

He has placed Soto on countless undercards instead of facing him with Brandon Rios. Rios has taken on solid competition, but Soto's competition at 135 has been pretty terrible outside a great fight versus Antillion.

Before Montiel, Donaire was getting the same criticism for not stepping up either.

lol, i hate breaking up posts the way u do. but im in no way saying arreola should have gotten to the title so easily. but with that said, to me, theres nothing thats so amazing about it. heavyweight was/is very weak. and other promoters have done similar things at much stronger weight classes. thats my point.

i dunno what ppl had against jermaine taylor, i wasnt a fan of his/ i was a winky fan but with that said, he was a legit champion. the hopkins fights were close, i gave them to hopkins but taylor did enough to prove himself. i guess i would need to to explain to me what was wrong with him. was his path to the title too easy u think?

i totally admit im being biased about this. but the fight that they gave him isnt at all bad. litzau, fresh off of his victory of caballero, could totally make broner disappear once and for all.

i just kinda wanna see what the kid can do, see if he did improve and i kno it can be argued that that doesnt need to be televised on hbo. but hey, litzau dors kinda deserve the slot, so think of it that way.

Valid point. We haven't heard any reports of these guys trying to be on HBO though. Arum hasn't gone on a rant saying that HBO turned these guys down like he normally does. Haymon tried with Ramos and was successful.

That's true. As long as HBO doesn't **** up by overpaying and matching them too soft, I won't mind. That's a hard task, but we'll see.
