HBO/Showtime boxing dates are all booked til september? Right...

Marquez will get killed. He only looked good against Juanma because everyone looks good against Juanma.

The butthurt flowing through you is strong... Juanma was KO'd by Gamboa's leftover, face it.

Fans want to see the best possible match-ups, not just "decent" match-ups. If there are logistical obstacles to making a particular fight, fine. But if there's better fight to be made, why give the fans less? We've seen what delay can do to a potential super-fight....

That's why Sergio Martinez can't get a date before September and the last report had his date being pushed to October...right....

If/when this fight is made, look me up, I'll be all in for Yuriorkis.

I wouldn't underestimate Rafael just yet.

Didn't he come into the Lopez fight with an already injured right shoulder?

Notice that Rafael barely threw the best anti-southpaw punch, and his best punch, the right straight, and he still managed to hurt Lopez using his left hooks.

Rafael is a counter combo puncher like JMM, and needs both arms/hands working to suit his style. I really would have liked to see how the Lopez fight would have turned out if Rafael was 100%, even at this stage of his career.

Rafael/Gamboa could turn out to be a good fight. Both are sorta chinny, not hard to hit, and both have power. Gamboa's speed will always be a problem, let's see how Rafael handles it.

Rafa's best days are behind him. He's too small for these guys too. I have a feeling his technique and skill alone will give him some good moments early. There's no doubt in my mind Gamboa steamrolls this guy though. Rafa is way too easy to hit, and the speed difference is huge. Seems like a waste of time. They should try to get John. At least he's more fresh.

I think Marquez has a better chance to KO Juanma in a rematch than KOing Gamboa, but I would like to see him fight Gamboa.

You don't get it. Now it's late of course, but Gamboa fought a month ago. Top Rank never plan his fights in advance as they should. They should already have a date for him in July with some possible opponents. They wait forever to pick him an opponent, and then have to wait for a date... What kind of weak azz promotion company is that? Not to mention his opponents always suck (again, not because they make Juanma look bad that they're good..ie: Mtagwa is a bum and he looked like superman).

Bob Arum doesn't care about his fighters career/legacy, only about the money. That's why he always has dates in advance for his cash cows, like Juanma. But a fighter like Gamboa, who needs to develop a fan base, Arum always waits til the last minute.

so true - although $$$ is obviously key, Arum don't care about nothing else AT ALL. He'll always go for the "name" easy win - Gamboa v. Marquez; Pac v. Mosely; Cotto v. Mayorga, and that's just the past few months; the list goes on and on.

Gamboa should fight John. now that Lopez has been KO'd, Gamboa and John are obviously the top 2 featherweights. HBO should not buy Gamboa's next fight unless it's vs. John
