lol why are people ****ting on this fight? Didn't marquez go toe to toe with Lopez in an awesome fight and hurt lopez a couple times? seems like the logical fight for gamboa. Chris john fight can't happen (golden boy), lopez can't happen, so might as well go after the next biggest name

so he moves to 130 who does he fight there??? There are no names there either.

I say fight Marquez, then Rojas, and hopefully by then lopez won a couple in a row.

Isn't Márquez gonna fight Mike Oliver on JCC Jr's undercard on June 4th? At least that's what Boxrec says. If so, when is the Gamboa fight gonna happen? October, November? That's a long time for the next Gamboa fight.

It's a pretty intriguing fight, poses some questions. As one who likes to watch both these guys, I'm definitely interested in seeing them answered.

I agree, Marquez still has something to offer against an opponent who's willing to stand there and trade. But Gamboa's not going to do that. I see this as too easy a fight for Yuri. He'll be in and out all night, probably winning by UD. As someone else pointed out, Gamboa's not getting any younger. He needs to start fighting the bigger names in his division, or a young gun like Mikey Garcia (who's not ready yet). So it comes back to what you said in your post. I just don't like the idea of fighting a guy just because your options are artificially limited.
