WBA featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (20-0, 16KOs) may take over the planned route of Juan Manuel Lopez. Lopez, who was recently upset in eight rounds by Mexico's Orlando Salido, was going to have a rematch with Rafael Marquez in fall. Lopez will now take a few months off to recover from his first loss, and then he wants a rematch with Salido in the fall.

im not interested in this. id rather see him jump up two weights and fight marquez at 135. rafael doesn't have his reflex's anymore it appears, and gamboa is simply too fast getting in and out. horrible matchup for marquez. I still say Chris John the Indonesian thin man has the best chance at 126 to beat gamboa.

Not a bad fight; however, I'm not really interested in it. A couple of other names have been mentioned, but I'm not excited by them either. The only two match-ups I'd like for Gamboa at 126 are John and Lopez. Yuri is ready for the biggest names in his division. Rafa is past his best days. The greatest thing about this fight is that we'd know who Gamboa's next opponent will be. I want to see "El Ciclon" fight ASAP.
