The boring nature the Gainer fight took was soley due to Derrick, rarely do you see JMM in a stalking mode.

Your right, if JMM is in with a lesser or a boring fighter the fight will be a stinker but if he is in with a guy like Morales or Pac you are more likely to get fireworks and bring out the best in JMM.

I have always said that Marquez had a nice little style to take into a fight with Erik Morales and I want it to be known that this thread has zero to do with Morales losing to Raheem.

What is everyones take on a Marquez/Morales fight?

I like Marquez in this fight repeatedly stunning Morales with big counter right hands, Marquez is one of those fighters that will never be remebered in the same breath with Mexcian legends MAB and EM but he most definately should be, fight fans talk about how avoided Winky Wright has been, man Marquez is every bit as avoided.

Do Erik Morales and MAB even know who JMM is?

After JMM ducked a Pacquiao rematch for $750K, he refused to fight Morales for $1.5M, Morales should've been fighting Marquez two weeks ago, not Raheem.

No one would ever count Marquez out whether he's fighting at feather or superfeather, he's got tremendous skills but all he's lacking is balls. If Morales tries to outbox Marquez just like what he did with Raheem, then Morales is in for a long night. You need to have a puncher's chance to beat Marquez, because you cannot beat him in his own game.

^^^Agreed. JMMarquez can give both Morales and Barrera nightmares, styles-wise. IMO he's the better skilled fighter than these two more popular Mexicans. But, sadly he really needs to grow his cojones...or is it Nacho pricing his ward out of big fights?

Yep my thoughts exactly as far as the subject of JMM having been avoided for the most part of his career. I've always liked JMM against MAB and EM but I think now if the two were to fight I'll lean towards Erik, 'cause unlike Raheem I think Erik can keep pace w/ Marquez and once he does Morales will give him different looks unlike Pac. I also like JMM over MAB. The thing about it though a fight between JMM and Morales will never happen 'cause both guys have stated publicly that it's not a possibility because of their friendship.

of all the posts made here, i agree on this one 101 percent!! to those who said that jmm would outbox erik, you'd better think again! that's why i don't want pac to fight erik again coz this guy morales is such a very talented fighter he could easily adjust to any fighter he faces!

well about raheem, i think morales didn't have a game plan and he underestimated him!! or could be that he didn't prepare very well and the weight problem really bothered him!

On top of the ring, Marquez is a businessman with good business practices: he issues RECEIPTS every time anyone sends something his way.One hopes he can be more astute in his business dealings outside the ring.
