Whats crazy is the amount of questions that will be answered if/when these two fight...
1. Who is the best p4p
2. Best of this generation
3. Arguably the best WW all-time
4. Cash Cow beyond their respective fight (loser would lose ppv buys for future bouts)
5. If Pac's 8 title run was for real
6. If Floyd's undefeated record is for real
7. The worth of Sugar Shane's legacy
8. Most importantly boxing's future if they don't break PPV record

But they either forgot or dont know Hatton had a belt at 147 after beating collazo at 147. So hatton was undefeated at 147 as well. He also fought Mosley when Mosley was coming off 2 back to make KOs and Floyd was coming off a 2 year lay off & a tune up with Marquez. Floyd dominated both those fighters. Floyd's JMW resume is also better then Pacquiaos. Pac fought Margarito a WW fighter at 150 for the 154lbs vacant belt. Margarito hadnt won any fights at 154 and had been off a whole year. Not only that he was fighting without his wraps. Floyd fought Oscar at 154 affter oscar ko mayorga and fernado vargus..

Its kind of a toss-up
Mayweather's best fight at 147 was Zab Judah. He moved up to 154lbs to fight Baldomir, but miraculously skipped over Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto (the fight that EVERYONE wanted), and a PRIME Sugar Shane Mosely.
Even that fight with Baldomir was bull****, if he REALLY wanted to make an impression he could have fought Winky Wright, Michele Piccirollo, Vernon Forrest (RIP), Fernando Vargas, ect at 154lbs.. He picked on the sorriest fighter at 154 just to get a belt. NO ONE on this board can convince me that Mayweather made more $$$ fighting Baldomir than he COULD have fighting Cotto. Nope. No way.
Manny's record at 147 against Hatton, De La Hoya, Cotto, Margarito and Clottey are a little better IMO. The competition at 147 hasnt really spectacular, and it hasnt really been popping since Williams, Cotto, Mayweather, Mosely, Margo, De La Hoya, ect..(Although some up and coming fighters like Ortiz are changing the landscape a bit)
I'll pick Manny, but it could honestly go either way.Last edited by size15shoe; 04-24-2011, 05:58 PM.
