During that time in the WW both Cotto and Marg were ranked the best and
It would have been entertaining to see Floyd pull out his arsenal of skills, dont you think?

Styles make fights my friend. As a fan, you should feel robbed.
May vs someone so.....primitive......like Margarito, would have to have everything in the known and unknown universe to go right for him.
After continuous and seemingly unending shots to Margarito's head, May breaks both hands beyond repair.
Is forced to submit on his stool at the end of RD11.
Scores before the ''fight'' is called off; 11-0 3x

Cotto vs May would have been vastly more entertaining.
As May does with all of his opponents, he sees what they got and makes adjustments.
    May 8-4 3x UD

Obviously May was not a ''threat'' to hurt anyone at WW.
''Hurting'' didn't seem to work for those who had the edge in power over May
    Usually, Brains >>>>> Brawn
Unless brawny guy is fighting a tune up level opponent or lands that fluky one punch.

But Leonard was all man. Who else wouldn't fight for 3 years then immediately take on Marvin Hagler without a tune up?
True. The time he took off between his multiple retirements really hindered his quantity. But within that 30 something odd fights, it’s rich with spectacular results. Leonard was had oozing TV charisma, savvy businessman and showmen that had a psychotic drive to win. Decades later, people still place him on a pedestal despite those super long layoffs.

Kinda sad for people to **** on Pac in this thread though. Lol

If Pacquiao can get put down despite his accomplishments which dwarf any modern fighters, then I don’t think we’ll ever see a fighter where people will say, “Yeah, he’s better than Leonard” in our lifetime.

Pacquiao’s nothing to scoff at. He lost to a sliding Morales, but that same Morales years later drew with Marcos Maidana and beat down an undefeated Pablo Cesar Cano years his junior. Morales was really burnt out with the high level wars he took on in a certain period.

And despite Leonard coming out on top in the round robin between the four horsemen, the Hagler fight gets debated to this day and Hearns gave him hell in both fights. Shame Tommy doesn’t get as much love. I’d pick Hearns having an easier time against any welter today over Leonard. though.

It’s just that Leonard always have something up his sleeve. What a special fighter that dude was.

Leonard for quality , but Pacman’s record is mind boggling. He is the modern day Henry Armstrong so I can’t choose.

I just know that Leonard is the superior fighter.

Don't be silly, SRL the superior fighter?.Pac is 7 division champ so must be superior fighter!
In hundred years times when people look back at their respective careers, it's no contest. People will see hagler, heard and Benitez as not that special. It's only hagler who was bigger than SRL too.

Pacquiao honestly has an incredible resume.

at Welterwe, sure, he doesn’t have a Hearns, Duran, or Hagler above 147 on his resume.

but are we going to now say that Barrera, Morales, Marquez was sh.it?

those are 3 ATGs as much as Hagler, Duran, and Hearns are ATGs.

Did you really just put Barrera, Morales and Marquez on the level of Hagler, Hearns and Duran? Really?????
