Ok so you admit the scorecards were fine? I dont have a problem with the stoppage because he was on his way to being kod anyway but arent you the same guy who said the Kirkland stoppage was a disgrace?Comment

I wouldnt doubt that but in this particular case there was nothing off about the scorecards to that point.Judges have been known to use white out, for who knows what reason, at the end of fights, to change scores.
Most recently, I forgot which fight was it that one of the judges scorecard had white out over a couple of rounds. But seeing things like that, makes you paranoid about every fight that is not on neutral soil.Comment

This vet should learn from the young Cesar Seda that went down to Argentina and lost a decision, and didnt say a word about hometown scoring. The featherweight champion of the World Boxing Organization, Orlando Salido, is relaxing in his native Ciudad Obregon in Sonora, Mexico, and savoring the upset win over previously undefeated Juan Manuel Lopez. The fight took place on April 16 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and saw Salido stop Lopez in the eight round.

There are insances when the judges blatantly score in favor of the hometown fighter but this was not one of them if through 7 rounds the fight was scored a DRAW
He fought a great fight and earned his belt, if there is a rematch I hope it is in MexicoComment

I agree with Salido on getting robbed if it were to of gone to the scorecards. He should of been ahead but it's done and over with and he won.Comment

That certainly wasn't a draw at the time of the stoppage, and Salido isn't someone any judges in any location would give a decision over Lopez if it did go the distance. He's like Glen Johnson.Comment

Yes, the scorecards were fine and I never claimed otherwise. You are misquoting me on the Kirkland stoppage; I criticized Joe Cortez for pinning Kirkland to the canvas and not allowing Kirkland to his feet after the 3rd knockdown. If Kirkland had been given the opportunity to show that he still had his feet then I would have no problem with Cortez' handling of the stoppage. Other than that, it was a great win for Ishida and I was happy he scored the W.Comment

I stand corrected. The fight was actually scored 67-65 in favor of Lopez by one judge and the other two were at a draw 66-66.
So Salido does have a valid argument I think.Comment

Of course they off, JuanMa didn't win four rounds, Salido did. Now if you factor in the knockdown, that gives Salido a two point advantage. Call the stoppage what ever you want, but please don't bull**** me with that JuanMa had won four rounds. Not on this green earth.Comment
