[QUOTE=Steak;10427826]watch their fight in good quality, it makes a big difference.

something i tried to point out. The NSB ****** CROWD don't seem to understand the reason today's fighters look faster and better is because of how many frames camera's could capture in the past. It's all about the camera quality. Look at the difference in the re-mastered version...additionally SRR was quite old in his fights with Basilio. Now imagine a prime SRR captured with today's technology.

Not understanding the limitations of old reels (and how to watch them) is why people can't fathom it when the old timers who were alive then and today tell everyone how good SRR and the like were....how fast etc etc and why they compare them more than favorably with today's fighters.

But boy, SRR takes some flush shots dont he? Not as elusive as i imagined he was or remember him to having not watched his fights for a while.
he'd probably get ko'd by basillio

dont tell me basillo is one of these great wins/fighters, reminds me of lamotta, hype

and stop arguing TS, robinson would demolish pacquaio, too big, hits too hard and his will and chin aren't something pacquiao can overcome

maybe will, but he'll lose cuz robinson can also box

Are you kidding? SRR would knock pacquiao's head off.

would'nt less frames = faster? should'nt older fighters actually look faster?

i dont get it, we have more frames now so we can see the whole movement, fluidly, no?

The old cameras couldn't capture the speed........it makes them look slower on the old reels.

There's a bunch of reasons as to why what was shown (i.e. recorded) was not an accurate representation of what you would be seein with your own eyes.........you could probably find the exact reasoning as to why if you look around on google.....somehting to do with the old cameras prob not having shutters.........

One day there'll be a boxer who surpasses SRR in greatness, but probably not in this lifetime.

the old camer'as could'nt capture the speed and it makes them slower? does that make sense?

why were old movies all sped-up like then? less frames per second

here's somethin from google about old camera's:
"They were shot on 16 millimeter film.35 millimeter will show each step of a person walking,16 mm shows every third step so seems they're moving faster with a jerky motion.Less frames shot per minute."

now, most robinson footage probabley had a little higher millimeter film

People put up imaginaary barriers to try not let anyone surpasss SRR, and there is nothing anyone can seemingly do.

But that is not neccesarily a good thing, because if im 12 years old and say i will only go into boxing if i can potentially be the greatest of all times, and you say its not possible even before they lace the gloves up, what would be the point of starting boxing?

In every other sport there are new greatests of all times. So there is no logic to the SRR debate.

not as good as Robinson doesnt mean Pac would lose against him.

Basilio would look like in a slow motion compare to Pac. LOL @ Pac slow compare to Basilio. Pac has been the fastest in almost every division he fought.
