LOL...taylor lost to chavez because he pressed chavez in the 12th round. he was winning by a land slide on all three judges. that fight had nothing to do with technique but more of strategy...and meldrick taylor stood in front of chavez when he didn't have to.

that fight does not even parallel roy and floyd as both are boxers. very different. plus one boxer is unorthodox with power and speed who fights best at a distance while the other is a slickster in the insaide who likes to shoulder roll. and they both like to feint and counter punch. hardly a Meldrick Taylor vs Chavez comparison

Roy is a great fighter but heavily flawed from a technical standpoint. Floyd is more of a traditional boxer, more or less just as physically talented as Roy. If this were a fight based strictly on styles, then I for one would assume they were the same size. I think if this were the case, the speed would be more or less equal, the only difference being that Roy puts himself in akward positions because he shoots from every angle. I think it would be a very boring fight, but I pick Floyd to win.

          A p4p style matchup.

Who do you think would win? I'm not asking who's greater, who's better or anything like that. Based on how they fight, who would win in a matchup if they were the same weight.
p4p roy jones has more flaws and was never really that great defensively. roy jones was just fast and had fast reactions.

When RJJ was still king, everybody was talking about his superior skills. It wasn't until he slowed that the flaws became very evident. PBF looked quite mortal against Castillo and his technical flaws will become evident in a few years as the speed goes away.

That ****** peekaboo shoulder defense isn't going to cut it when he slows down LOL. In fact, Hatton will steamroll right through that. PBF's last 5 opponents are Sosa, N'dou, Corley, Bruseles and Gatti. These should be his peak years fighting the top dogs.

Very sad for PBF. By this stage of his career RJJ had fought Hopkins and Toney and McCallum and had a legacy already. Guys like SRL were taking superfights and challenging the best in every division they moved to. PBF is a super talent, going to waste. Step it up, sonny. You don't make my #1 P4P. That's reserved for fighters that earn it inside the ring.

Spare me violins and hankies for Floyd. Hatton only fights in England and never expressed any desire to fight in America until after the KT victory. Floyd was never going to England to fight Hatton for his goofy WBU belt, and Hatton wasn't the MAN, that was KT. Have you ever even watched a boxing match or at least kept up with the results?
No, I never saw a boxing game before? I too poor to use teh boxing, man.

Notice in my post that I said he went after the man who is now the man. I didn't say Hatton was the man when Floyd first entered 140lbs. I simply said he went after Hatton.

How can you pick Floyd based on what Roy looks like now...that''s about ****** if there ever was such a thing.

This is a p4p matchup, based on styles.

Like I said, Roy fought one man who had a similar style to Floyd, and won every round. For those of you questioning Roy's defense, either you are a hard-core Floyd fan, Roy hater, or just have no clue what you are talking about (perhaps as a result of not seeing Roy in his prime).

In his prime (which is where this matchup takes place, or have yall forgotten) Roy's defense was great. Simply put, the measure of one's defense is how often they are able to avoid getting hit cleanly. It's not based on any "textbook". Roy's ability to dodge punches (yes, that means defense) was as good or better than Floyd's. In no way was his ability to dodge punches throughout the fight lesser than Floyd's ability.

If you want to pick Floyd, do it on merit, not because of some dumb-assed assumption that Roy's defense is not good due to his recent downfall att he age of 35.

I don't think this fight is worth talking about because Mayweather is much smaller than Roy. Thats like saying who would win Vitali vs. Winky Wright?LOL
