You are crazy man. The number don't lie, highest paid boxer ever and highest grossing PPV fighter ever so he has to be the greatest. I mean that's what makes a fighter great isn't it? PPV sales and money?

        things that don't matter:
virtually losing all your big fights.

        things that matter:
        not looking like valuev.

        true success story.

          Things that dont' matter:
          The opposition you face
Taking extended periods of time off from fighting for no good reason

          Things that matter:
PPV sales and money so you can be your own boss and call the shots and not have to fight but still be considered the greatest in the sport

Yet he lost to Hopkins, Mayweather, Whitaker (imo), Mosley twice, and Trinidad

In his biggest fights, he lost. Plus, he wears fishnet stockings in his spare time.......just saying

**To give him credit, he made it big at a time when a lot of Hispanics started immigrating to the US for opportunity. He was the Hispanic hope but not the greatest boxer.

Hopkins, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Mosley, Trinidad all got really really famous when they fought Dela Hoya if they didn't they wouldn't be as famous as they are right now.
