Looks like Sergio Martinez is going to get his no matter what. If Chavez wins and doesn't fight him, then he gets stripped and would be looked at as a ducker. After Julito beats Zbik, he will fight an optional defense first that fight will be in September and if he doesn't fight in September a November date could be for him,


After that he will fight his mandatory, Marco Antonio Rubio, that fight will be in May 2012, so you will have to wait 3 more fights if you want a piece of him.

And that will be till Summer 2012, because well he has an optional first defense in his contract if he becomes a champ, and he has to fight his mandatory Rubio after that.

Now fight Manfredo and Ishida in the meantime. i know it will be very productive for you and duck Pirog that also has a Title that you owned.

And if you are SMART you will know that it will bring you more money if Chavez wins all of those fights before he fights you.

Martinez is cashing out, because the writing is on the wall regarding his 36yo bones. He fought and beat the #1 and #2 MW, so I can sort of understand his thinking. He has a tiny window left, you can't really blame him.
