Comments Thread For: Helenius vs Liakhovich in The Works For June 25?

Former WBO heavyweight champion Sergei Lyakhovich (25-3, 16KOs) is one of the candidates being considered for Robert Helenius' next fight, which is tentative for June 25 in Germany. The unbeaten Finnish heavyweight, with a 15-0 and 10KOs record, is returning from the biggest win of his career. On April 2 he knocked out former WBC champion Samuel Peter in nine rounds. Lyakhovich would be a good test as Sauerland Event further develops Helenius into a major player in the heavyweight ranks.

If this fight does happen then I say Helenius winning by knocking Liakhovich spark out, and I mean out.

Nice fight for the division. I like both fighters, but The White Wolf is in tough against heavy-handed Helenius.

The more I watch Helenius progress the more I'm liking him. He's coming off his biggest win against a top ranked contender and now he's back in action against (hopefully) Sergie "White Wolf" Liakhovich. Gotta respect that..

This will be a good one if it happens.

Lyakhovich was in the most entertaining HW fight of 2010 against Quinn, and we all remember the great fight with Brewster in 2006.

I hope Sergey is given other opportunities by his promoter Main Events, even if he loses to Helenius.

this is a good match up....helenius is looking like he's a real threat to all the champions & a win vs liakhovich would just continue to raise his stock as the next viable contender to fight for any of the titles...15 fights & 2 wins over former world champions & he fights liakhovich then that is 3 fights with former champions by his 16th fight.very impressive!

Helenius is nothing. He is another joke of HW of todays... He got no techniques or skills, no stamina, no punch.
                    NO! He got no punch!!
To knock out Peter is not a big deal NOW. Peter after Klitschko is nuthing! It's like to boast of knocking out Ricky Hatton after Mayweather.
Peter just wanted a bit of cash... the last cash off boxing.....
                    he got it...
                    so long Samuel....
