I must confess:
There are worse fights that could could be made.
Prior to Erik beating Maidana on the fans scorecards, I would have denied that neither Barrera nor Morales could compete on a large stage in 2011.
But this year has already produced some amazing contests.
There is something magical in the pugilistic air and I now discount nothing.

Well, almost nothing.

Shane is still going to take a terrible pounding in 2 weeks.
Otherwise it will be Tyson / Douglas 2 and such miracles occur only once in a lifetime.

Okay, I'm starting to feel Barrera. September 16th is Mexican Independence Day as that would be the Friday's weigh in for this nostalgic fight b/w two of Mexico's greatest warriors of all time. Saturday is the fight which will be a loaded gate in Vegas and do great PPV numbers as fans (both die hard and casual) will pay more outta respect and a trip down memory lane than the "want" of seeing two prime warriors going toe-to-toe. Damn Barrera got this thing on lock, not really the boxing anymore but definitely the chops of knowing when to strike while the iron's hot...thanks to Erik's valliant performance vs. Maidana.
