As for the PED instantly extrapolated into steroids by Pacquiao fans, I always find that funny. You can link to articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and the Pacquiao fans will link back with some random Pinoy talking to a webcam on YouTube and think it debunks a peer-reviewed article. Diehard Pacquiao fans and rational thought are mutually exclusive.

i would love to see this implemented. it's not the *******s that would object to this, it's the *****s. *****s prefer invasive tests, which is the real issue here. precisely the reason why some fighters are not willing to take it. i don't see anyone objecting to giving hair for tests.

but who the fack is gonna pay for it?
there is more than enough money to go around and pay for it
they should figure out how much it will cost and dock everyone's purse a little
          that wont be an issue

Some fighters are willing to take potentially harmful PEDs and some are not. I don't like wondering if I'm watching a clean fighter against a user. I would enjoy fights much more if I'm as assured as possible that the fighters are on an even playing field. The current urine tests are basically the commissions way of giving fighters permission to use whatever they want as long as they have their system clean by fight night.

Regardless of how PEDs became a popular issue in boxing recently I think it should be acted on. I can't imagine why fighters themselves who are clean would not be behind the improvement of testing so that a standout performance won't be subjected to su****ion and to also be more assured that they're not fighting a user. Seeing that boxing is one of the most physically demanding sports out there I have no doubt that numerous boxers use PEDs.

Why not at least implement random urine testing? It's disturbing to see that these commissions have not made any attempt to improve their testing protocol in decades, when at the same time PEDs have made giant strides in development along with agents that can be used to mask them. It's as if they want fighters to use PEDs because they think fights will be more ferocious. They don't care that boxing is one of the deadliest "sports"... all they care about is making more money. I'd like to see them set their greed aside and improve the drug testing.

Not my intention to turn this into a may/pac thread, I brought this up a few months ago in an attempt to find a common ground between both sides.

If blood was really a problem, I proposed that Floyd can take the blood test and Pac take the hair test. But NSB's dynamic duo of blood testing experts still didn't think it was good enough.

Sup guys....well, I used to work at one of these drug testing labs here in LA and they were able to use a variety of human samples to test for illicit drugs for larger companies - hair (head, armpit, or pubic), blood, piss, and fingernails being the most common.

The only thing is...I never believed it in. I had to take the SAME test (hair) and passed and I was a heavy, everyday weed smoker at the time. I passed like nothing and was hired.

This is the company, highly respected among in the idustry ....http://www.psychemedics.com/ .......but a joke to me. if they couldn't even find the weed in my system as a new hire wtf?

that's interesting. i knew a guy who went nearly a month without smoking and even used masking shampoo and still came back dirty. maybe it was a flaw in that particular test. not sure as im not educated on how to actually test the samples, but i think any type of non-invasive testing (hair, nails, or even urine) is better as long as it's random. of course i'd suggest hair if, as they claim, it's more effective, but the inclusion of random testing alone is better than what they have in place right now.
