"The more one reflects on Manny and his performances, the clearer it becomes that he is the Bruce Lee of boxing. This athletic style is unique in boxing to Manny.
In more than 4 decades of promoting fights. I have never seen anyone like Manny Pacquiao and his Bruce Lee style of boxing"
- Bob Arum
This is funny. Manny fights nothing like Bruce Lee. Floyd is the closest thing to a martial artist in the boxing ring with the shoulder roll, counter punching, and general body movement. Arum only says that because he's asian. What a cheap way to promote a fighter.

It's also well known that fighters who stay active have an edge over fighters who take long layoff. This is the same thing that *******S bring up when they talk about Floyd's win over Mosley. Just shows how they will favor a certain perspective when it's convenient for them to do so. This is why people hate *******s.Originally posted by FUTURE QUEEN View PostWasn't Floyds win vs Shane really harmed by his inactivity (Shanes)? i thought that's what i heard.. Floyd has had like 2 fights in what? 4-5 years??
You guys can't have it both ways.. Sure Pacquiao may actually slow down a bit more if he starts taking damage (not likely facing Clottey/Margarito/Mosley) but Floyd is hardly gonna get faster and is more likely to be out of practice if he ever does return

Pacquiao staying active helps him stay sharp, especially since he hasn't been any tough fights recently. If there's some extra testosterone in his system, that'll keep him younger too.
Your analogy is, as previously pointed out.
as for ring rust, that's what TUNEUPS are for right?

Interviewer: Was the change motivated by the fact that when you got these pills, you didn't know what was in them? Whereas with a natural diet, you know exactly what is going into your system?
Khan: Exactly. Don't get me wrong, Alex did a great job, but Michael is more of a nutritionist. Your body is like a car. What you put into it is important. You'd want to know if you're putting Diesel into a Petrol car.
some interesting comments from khan too.

BUT.
there is just so much damage the body and brain can take that it can no longer repair itself. otherwise, ali and roach wouldn't have the physical afflictions they are currently going through.
boxing is such a brutal sport that a single punch can end your career and very possibly your life.
as for ricky hatton, i wish him the best and i hope that he succeeds in whatever he decides to do.
but there are just too many factors out there to know for sure if he can work out a successful comeback.
Then this debate has nothing to do with a boxer's layoff. It has to do with how much punishment a boxer takes and how well he treats his body.
A boxer takes punishment because he does not have defence and that means the style of fighting.
You're right this is a pointless degate. I'll let you debate with other who have similar ideas to yours.
Cheers.
