first of all i dont think that this fight would happen. if ur a promoter and ortiz is just starting to become a superstar why the fawk would u put him right away with the best pound 4 pound? are u that dumb to let ur next cash cow get a beating? and stop saying that ortiz will beat pacquiao. pacquiao is too fast, to powerful and more skillful than ortiz. ortiz just comes straight at you and if margarito can't put that type of pressure on pacquiao then there's no way in hell ortiz can do it. pacquiao will move side to side and pepper ortiz with 10 combinations. so fawk all of u if u ever think ortiz has a chance. ortiz might be the next superstar that can save boxing so if i was a promoter i would rather have him fight khan, bradley and maidana. he will become big by fighting those guys. but if u want another mexican to serve to the pacman well it's up to u folks.

After the Mosley fight win or lose, Ortiz's name is going to come up along with Mayweather.

I think that you Manny fanboy's are full of ****, as usual.

It is absurd to hear some of you talking about Sergio Martinez as a potential future opponent for Pacquiao, it seems like you have managed to convince yourselves that Manny would actually take that fight

            Fkn absurd ****riders

Most of the following disadvantages apply to ALL of Pac's last 7 opponents.

            * Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
            * Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
            * Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
            * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
            * Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
            * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

Martinez (and Ortiz) are the polar-opposite of Pac's last 7 opponents.

And wow, what a coincidence, if you look at recent events you can see the same pattern emerging.....

Berto, who was prime and undefeated, was short-listed, but not selected (surprise, surprise)..... and yet Ortiz, who blitzed him, will not even be considered WTF?

IMO, they will not even fight Marquez next because he is still too far removed from the list above. He is most likely still too dangerous, even with the ridiculous advantage gained by dragging him up to 147. They will wait until he is 40, or takes a loss, or shows more signs of fading..... like they did with Shane.

Look for Zab, or one of the lesser JWW's, I doubt that Bradley gets a look-in.

I'm surprised by this post..Pac is a beast dude and earned all the credit in the world imo..I really don't understand why so many fans want Ortiz to get a beating by Pac??Cause best believe that is what is going to happen..

You shouldn't be, I explained my position in the preceding post.

And, it baffles me how you could come to the conclusion that "Ortiz to get a beating by Pac".

FACT: The only welter that Pac has EVER fought at 147 is, Josh Clottey.

Ortiz is the polar-opposite to Pac's last 8 opponents - 9, if JMM is next.

When did Pac last fight a skilled, prime, champion, who was on top of his game, and coming off a great win?

Think what you will, but I am going with the obvious.....
the current trend that began in June 2008, will not change until Mayweather.

You can tell by the way they are matching Manny that Floyd is not really in their plans.

Arum is just using Floyd's name to market Manny....just like he did w/Margarito.

GBP and TR won't work together. it'd be a fight we'd like to see, but only thing we can do is imagine how'd it go down. but sucks to know they're both WWs...i think pacquaio should move down to 140 and fight people there after mosley, really don't know anyone at welterweight for pac unless scumbag arum sets up a cintron fight, or somehow gives jones a shot or something...who knows, but ortiz/pacquiao won't happen.
