Only Ortiz knows if he can be comnpetitive with pacman. If he can openly challenge pac then be it! But if not, then it means he is still green with Pac or to Floyd. However, if you think Pac is old then I think you're wrong! in his last fights, it doesn't show any signs that Pac is aging, but rather, still on his prime! and in my estimate, Pac could beat Ortiz easily and squarely!

He dropped the ball against Maidana, but i don't see that happening after this victory. Ortiz has power. He drops everyone he fights. Even though he lost to Maidana he still dropped him 3 times......and even if he loses to Pac i think it will be really competitive. Ortiz showed he has a very good chin at 147, stamina, speed and true power. HE IS A REAL THREAT TO MAYWEATHER AND MP. I think he prob loses to both because he get's reckless sometimes, but damn him and Many would be a DELIGHT....an absolute slugfest.
The fight with Maidana was a learning lesson for Ortiz. The fight with Berto proved that he has learned from that lesson. I think that he has now realized that he is no longer that 'poor kid' that was abandoned by his parents but a full grown man that has the potential to make a big impact to boxing if he chooses.

It may be a bit too early for him to go after the top two in Pac or May. I think he needs to refine his defence and establish a good jab, and hopefully Pac and/or May is still available then.

It's interesting to note that Pac isn't motivated to go after guys he considers to be 'nice' and 'humble'. I think he likes to go after the guys with the big egos and put them in their place.

Would be a good fight but I believe Manny's experience would win out . I'd like to see Manny fight Ortiz , JMM and then retire . **** Mayweather and his chicken ass .

What's the best way to prove yourself than to go after the P4P No. 1? Pac ain't getting any younger, and with Berto out of the Pacquiao Sweepstakes, Victor deserves to take his place since he blasted Berto out of the line.

If you look at the WW rankings from 2009, there aren't any more top contenders remaining for Pac to face, except for the vacationer. He's either dominated them by now or they have fallen by the wayside.

              Bring on the new blood!

Actually, the opposite is true. Pac said previously that he prefers to face fighters who don't trash-talk and can fight without being disrespectful of their opponents. I think Pac liking Victor bodes well for Vic's chances of facing Pac despite his GBP affiliation.

He likes those kind of fighters...we like him to fight the arrogant trash talkers because a different Manny shows up.

Manny wont get to fight any truly meaningful fights until Blob Arum dies of old age which could very well be as late as 2012. Blob is wasting Manny's career on a losing battle against GBP. Blob will die the 2nd best promoter, knowing Top Stank will be buried next to his greedy old bones a year or 2 later.

I totally agree. He's so greedy, thats why his son was taken from him. Arum's jaw dropped when Juanma got dropped this weekend.
