Marquez should focus on pursuing serious offers instead of wasting his time with Arum's BS games that are ruining the sport.
Agree with your post, except for the bolded. Arum actually did almost a 360 when word came out that JMM was considering leaving GBP for a fight with Pacquiao. Remember, Arum suddenly changed his tune and even announced that "JMM could possibly be next for Pacquiao", when the press was circulating that JMM might not renew his contract with GBP. And then, for some reason Arum publicly announced yesterday that a Pacquiao fight versus Marquez was 'unlikely' because Marquez was choosing to stay with GBP. What's funny about that is that JMM has said no such thing. He's basically saying here in his own words that he is still undecided. But Bob has made it perfectly clear that JMM's chances of fighting Manny Pacquiao lie solely on whether JMM stays or goes with Golden Boy. The pathetic thing is that it never had anything to do with JMM and his ability to sell tickets, the weight issue or his connections with his Mexican fans. The ONLY issue is whether JMM is with Top Rank or not, period. Bob Arum is running out of fighters to put Manny in with and it's all because he has a teenaged grudge against ODLH and GBP.

And the same thing goes when it came to Shane Mosely. Bob Arum is holding Boxing for ransom.

      Exactly.

Now, please do not mistake me for a GBP nut-hugger, because, should they obtain a similar monopoly on boxing, they will likely head the same direction.

But, if Pac had been with GBP since JMM II, he would likely have suffered 1-2 possible defeats (depending on whether the Cotto fight took place, and the result), he would be a (genuine) 6-7 division titlist, and he would likely be UNDENIABLY universally lauded..... which is not the case at present.

I do however admit that it is possible that Pac may not have made quite as much money up to this point in time, even though the Mayweather fight would almost certainly have taken place.

Arum will milk the Manny-cow until it is dry, and then feed it to Mayweather.

That old conman is pretty good at what he does.

Right on DocG! As for a Marquez vs Pac fight, I can't wait for that one. We will be guaranteed a war even if it doesn't last that long with a 2 handed Pac.( Pac did not have a explosive right hand in their other 2 fights) Mismatch, but fun while it lasts.

JMM is so hungry for that fight and not just for the money, he wants to kick pacs arse and I have a hunch if they fight he could pull it off, that is at 140

what does personality and boxing have anything to do with being amongst the elite boxers of today?

Fight shoud have been made at @135 but Team Pac & Table setter Bob the defruader ...Blah, wanted the tailor made D Diaz (whatever happened to that great Lightweight champ). Boxing got screwed out of a great fight and nuthuggers were able to exhale.

Fast forward today and it's the same ole crap, blame JMM for not making the fight or not taking the lopsided deal. Make it happen @140 or below or let it go. Seems like Pac only wants to see JMM if the scale is tilted heavily in his favor.

Funny thing is that Pac did not want to fight Morales at higher weight for the rematch, in other words Pac vs Morales II when Morales had problems making the weight.

Fact is, ever since the JMM fight....Pac fights faded fighters, recently savagely KO'd fighters that lack confidence, impose catchweights or picks on old guys that seem to be in their twilight. Is that the great champ that boxing is trumping up. What a freaking disgrace. Pac & Mayweather should pony up and fight Maravilla instead of fighting past their prime fighters.s
