I don't that is true at all. The fight was supposed to be in March and they were in January trying to negotiate. Two months was not enough for this mega event and it got to the point where Manny was running out of time, he needed to get a fight, concentrate on that fight and then run for congress. He figured that "Let the bout marinate, I can win my next fight, Floyd Jr can win his next fight and then we can have a mega event in November." I am sure Arum was thinking the same thing...Look at it this way! It took 3 fights for Manny to get 3 million PPV buys. It would take only one with Mayweather. That's only one promotion instead of three promotions, etc. So, if Manny makes 3 times the money and Arum makes 3 times the money. Plus, if it's close or controversial, they can fight again. Another 3 times the amount of money to be made for all involved. That is what Arum and Manny had in mind, I am sure of it...
