The only thing about that, is that Mayweather would have no way of knowing if he is as shot as Manny. See my point?

Manny might become shot, but while being inactive for so long, Mayweather might also notice when it comes fight time, thats hes not as sharp as he use to be

    • I think Manny means Floyd is waiting for the wars to catch up to him.

Floyd's style ages much slower than Manny's style since Manny actually likes to make it a fight and take some to give some.

      Really simple to understand.

Wish he would have said this instead, because that I can agree with somewhat. Just that Pacquiao has sliced through all his opponents since moving up from 130, had a few bumps on the road against Margarito but easy win nonetheless. Mayweather's only hurting himself here.

That must be what he meant, and it is possible I suppose. And I agree that Mayweather's style will be less-affected by loss of reflexes/speed than Manny's.

            • Just cause you believe something does not make it true.

Pacquiao has more "boxing" wear and tear cause his defence is not all that but he is active and I'm assuming he lives a "clean" life.

If you believe that Pacqiao getting older than Floyd then that's fine but don't just believe it cause Pacquiao said it. And, don't try and convise yourself that it's true either.

I think activity keeps you sharp.

Does anyone think that Oscar De La Hoya can come back and dominate the sport. I mean he's been inactive so using this logic he's not getting older.

              "Practise makes perfect".

Now we must read between the lines.

Okay I'll read between your lines: Mayweather's style is better than Pacquiao's style.

                Is that about right?

Exactly, as good as a boxer that Oscar was, I think he would easily get outpointed by alot of C level fighters after being off that long, so yea Activity does keep you sharp

                  • I actually believe the exact opposite is happening and they are waiting for Floyd to age. If you accept that MP will take OST, why did they refuse the fight in the first round of negotiations, which is what they did?? I believe the reasons are two-fold:

                    - Freddie didn't want such a short turn around after Cotto, and additionally feels the longer they wait and the older Floyd gets (he's nearly 35) the more his legs will diminish.
                    - Arum didn't want to risk Manny losing before making the most of all in house fights left.

Yes but it's all Arum's fault isn't it.
